Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It’s International Mountain Day! This day was designated in 2001 by the United Nations General Assembly to create awareness about the important role that mountainous regions play in the global ecosystem. Mountains are essential to the world’s freshwater supply. They also safeguard many natural resources and protect communities against natural disasters.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Try and trust will move mountains.
Proverb
South eastern Ohio is in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. I’ve been there many times and have traveled through the mountains going down south on trips too. Here at my house the ground is pretty flat but there are other kinds of things that are like mountains in my life.
I think we all have mountains to move in our lives. You know, things that we need to overcome with faith, but haven't. The mountain is the problems in our life. Sometimes I have mountains of doubt.
Mountains in our lives can be situations that block us so that we cannot see clearly where we are going. Mountains represent challenging summits and goals. Life has constant twists, turns and can change on you in an instant. We are reminded that ultimately our strength and ability has its limits. And only God can make a way where there is no way.
We are all climbing different mountains. Instead of telling God how big our mountains are, maybe we should tell our mountains how BIG our God is.
Mountains won’t be moved if we try to do it ourself, so maybe that should be our prayer to God to help us move one today.
Remember:
For every mountain there is a miracle.
Robert H. Schuller
I hope you all have a great day. Happy Thursday!
14 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Take time to plan out details of Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas breakfast, and/or a Christmas day meal. Create a menu. Don’t forget to include a main dish, side dishes, bread or rolls, drinks, and of course – a dessert or two! This year our family Christmas celebration will be at DD’s house on the Saturday after Christmas. I’ll be making a big pan of lasagna to go along with the ham she’s making. Each of us brings a dish or two to share.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and far away
Go tell it on the mountain
Our Jesus Christ is born!
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2300. for faith to move mountains, my God is BIG
2301. for beautiful mountains to view
2302. for another family gathering coming soon
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
One may walk over the highest mountain one step at a time.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Can't believe 2 weeks from today is Christmas! I do like driving through mountains as long as the roads aren't too curvy and there are lots of guard rails up. I like that God is a God that can move mountains; he indeed is greater than anything we face!

My daughter and her husband go every year to Hocking Hills in Ohio. They love it and to think I once lived in Columbus and never got to go there. I guess those aren't mountains but the next best thing. We all have those other kinds of mountains so it is a good post today.
I love that thought about telling the mountains how big our God is! Thanks so much for sharing that Pam! I always enjoy your posts so very much. I am reading them back one by one. I will probably not comment any more because it will jam up your inbox and stuff, but I am reading and I am enjoying. I am always in awe of all that you come up with! xxoo
