Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Brownie Day. celebrating chocolatey, chewy brownies. Brownie lovers, love chocolate. Conversely, chocolate lovers, love brownies. Therefore, its only natural, that we have a special day to celebrate brownies.
It's fun and easy to enjoy this special day. First, select your favorite brownie recipe, and bake a batch of brownies. You can add nuts, if you prefer. Topping the brownies with chocolate frosting is a good thing, too. Finally, eat them! You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.
Washington Irving
Everyone loves brownies and there are so many good recipes for them too. I saw this cute and clever idea for Santa’s Hat Brownies and thought it would be a good one to try out.
I was looking for a fun and simple holiday treat and I ran across this idea. They’re so good and easy to make, especially when you use ready made brownie bites. You can bake a pan of your favorite brownies and cut them into rounds too. Just whip up some vanilla buttercream frosting to simulate the white trim on the hats. Top with a strawberry and dab of bit of frosting on the top to resemble Santa’s tassel and Voila! A simple and easy festive dessert to get everyone into the spirit of the holidays.
Getting into the spirit of things isn’t very hard at all here at my house. My mind is filled with all things Christmas. Baking, wrapping and finishing up my Christmas cards is keeping me rather busy. It’s nice to find something easy and quick to do.
During all the busyness of this week we all need to take a little time out each day and remember the reason for the season. I’m finding that the best time of day for me to do that is early morning. What a joy it is for me to see the darkness fade and the sun come up.
Some of the pictures today are of some of my cuties in Santa’s hats a few Christmases ago.
I hope your week is off to a great start and that you have a Happy Monday !
18 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
I wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month.

I saw an idea online the other day for the cutest gift in a jar. For those with a supply of old match box cars
this is a perfect way to use them. Hot glue a car in the bottom of a canning jar. Tie a tiny Christmas tree to the top of the car with some twine. You can hot glue it to make sure it stays on too. Then put some bits of confetti in the jar to resemble snow. Another idea I saw was to use salt for the snow. A little glitter sprinkled in wouldn’t hurt either. Put on the lid and tie it with a bow. You then have a cute snow globe. This would be wonderful gift for antique car lovers or for someone that has a favorite dream car. Just in case you’re wondering my dream car would be a pink Cadillac. I saw one of the newer ones when we were out not long ago and it was nice!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!
Hamilton Wright Mabie
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

I wish I were as talented as you at making Christmas hats!
Keith can no longer eat brownies, but I need things to make for our family gathering this weekend... and I think your brownie idea is easy and good!
Those brownies that look like Santa's hat are so cute! I like the thought of National Brownie Day! That's one I think I could celebrate yearly and never get tired of doing so! Cute idea too with the Matchbox car in the jar! Lots of clever ideas out there for people looking for creative unique gifts!
