Life is a Special Occasion!

Look for an Evergreen Day is today. To many people, only a fresh cut real tree will do for Christmas. The scent of fresh pine helps to capture the feel of the holidays. Nothing looks more real than a real tree, each one with it's own character and appearance.
There is no shortage of types of Christmas trees. Generally classified as firs, spruces, and pines, the most popular varieties have changed over the years. Personal preference will determine whether you select a short needle, or long needled tree.
If you haven't selected a tree yet, it is certainly getting late. The timing of this holiday seems a little late. By the 19th of December, most people have found and put up their Christmas tree. So if you are still treeless, this special day could be the day to do so.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.
Roy L. Smith
DS#5 and his family went out to get a live tree this year and that is what today’s pictures are of. I’m glad I get pictures to share as here at my house the trees are little artificial table top trees and the scent of pine either comes out of a can or from the candles I light up.
I do love the scent of pine and have many happy memories of having a real tree in the house. I do have some live evergreens outside the house. One of them is cedar and the other is Scotch Pine. I love the fragrance from the cedar tree when we trim it.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday !
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree,
Your branches green delight us!
They are green when summer days are bright,
They are green when winter snow is white.
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree,
Your branches green delight us!
6 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Each ornament on our Christmas tree tells a story, but remembering just what the story was is sometimes a problem. One suggestion I saw said to keep track of ornament collections with an ornament journal. Whether it's about Baby's First Christmas or a special gift from grandmother's last vacation, a quick note about each new ornament will preserve the memories from year to year.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The perfect Christmas tree? All Christmas trees are perfect!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2321. for the ornaments I treasure from year to year
2322. for the scent of fresh cut pine
2323. for families that make moments to remember
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
ALWAYS REMEMBER : The greatest gift you ever own is not found in the shops or under your Christmas tree. It is found in the hearts of your family and your true friends.

Pam what lovely pics of your son and his family getting their tree! I have fond memories of doing the same with my own children during the years. There is nothing like a real tree for Christmas. It just smells wonderful. We have an artificial one, but I have a candle which smells like a Christmas Tree which I really enjoy. Have a fabulous weekend! xoxo
How fun for your son and family to get their tree like that this year :) I drove by a Christmas tree lot here yesterday; still lots of trees out to buy! I wonder how many will be going home this weekend; I did see lots of trees last week tied up on top of roofs of cars.
