Life is a Special Occasion!

Chocolaholics rejoice! Today is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day. Its a great day to indulge, binge, pig out, and otherwise consume to excess, your favorite food....chocolate. The timing of this day, during the holiday season, couldn't be better.
Today, we get to enjoy our beloved chocolate by covering something...just about anything... in a generous amount of chocolate. Pour, spread, or drizzle chocolate over cakes, cupcakes, pies, pancakes or waffles, nuts, raisins, even ants. Yes, some people actually eat chocolate covered ants!.
As chocoloaholics, we shouldn't need any added incentive to enjoy our chocolate. In the giving spirit of the holiday season, make sure to give or share some of your favorite chocolate covered treats today.
Happy National Chocolate Covered Anything Day!
Shake, shake, shake that chocolate syrup!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
Charles Monroe Schulz
Right before Christmas is the perfect time to make chocolate covered treats. One of the recipes that is on my list to make sometime before Christmas is Chocolate Haystacks
2 cups granulate sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
3 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
In sauce pan bring first 4 ingredients to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Drop quickly from teaspoon onto waxed paper.Cool. For Christmas I’ll drop each spoonful onto individual tart papers similar to cupcake liners only smaller. Makes about 48
Hopefully I’m going to get baking done this week except for sausage bread and that will be made closer to Christmas.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday !
9 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Simple, no bake Graham Cracker Mini Houses are a sweet holiday treat. Use them as place cards for holiday meals, or hang them as ornaments on the Christmas tree
1 box graham crackers
1/4 pound candy melts or almond back coating
plastic squeeze bottles for food crafting
10 to 15 each read and green colored candy melts
two quart sized food storage bags
waxed paper
Using a sharp knife and cutting board, separate graham crackers into sections. Each house requires seven sections. Set aside four untrimmed sections, two for the roof and two for the side walls. Decorations are applied while pieces are flat, then pieces are assembled with melted bark coating in a plastic squeeze bottle.
While an adult should trim the graham cracker sections, decorating and assembling is easy enough for kids.
Makes 10 - 20 houses, depending on breakage and number of crackers.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
As with most fine things, chocolate has its season. There is a simple memory aid that you can use to determine whether it is the correct time to order chocolate dishes: any month whose name contains the letter A, E, or U is the proper time for chocolate.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2315 . for Chocolate, always a good treat
2316. for Christmas cookies, it wouldn’t be the same without them
2317. for a very Tasty Green Tomato relish from our trip to Amish country
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

This is my type of day, Ma! I like chocolate with just about anything and everything and especially by itself! I think I'll have some Peanut M and M's in honor of today. (We have a little candy dish we always fill up at Christmas time with various chocolate; right now its Peanut M and M's turn in it :)
I'm sure lots of baking happening at your house this week; probably all delicious things and the smells are delightful!

Love the idea of a chocolate day. For me every day is chocolate day in some way. I eat a tiny piece of it each morning. That helps to keep me from binging on it! Love all your thoughts and the recipes. Haven't made those chocolate cookies in years! Maybe today! Love your wee grandson with the advent calendar! Cute! Have a super Wednesday!! xoxo
