Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
November 20, is Beautiful Day. This international holiday was created to remind us to find beauty in everything that surrounds us. Most can probably agree that celebrating a Beautiful Day in whatever context is a good thing. We probably should have the mindset that everyday we are privileged to celebrate is a beautiful day. Though, sometimes having a dedicated day, such as this, serves to help us remember and acknowledge the beauty that always surrounds us.
Go to an art museum, take a walk in the park or watch a sunset. The sky is the limit for how to make today beautiful
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.
Frank Lloyd Wright
While I don’t care much for cold and snowy weather it does make for some beautiful pictures and that is what I’m sharing today. When I stepped outside the door to take the picture of the sunrise it was so bitterly cold, it took my breath away. But the sight was beautiful. I keep trying to look on the bright side of things.
On cold mornings I am thankful for hot cereal and I discovered that a little eggnog, instead of milk, on my cream of wheat is a beautiful thing. I also love finding reasons to turn the oven on when it’s below freezing outside. I had an acorn squash that needed cooking up so I put it in the oven with some chopped apple and raisins, a dab of butter and poured a little apple cider over it. mmmm…good. It was a beautiful treat on a cold day.
There is beauty all around us, we only have to look for it.
Today I’m off to an early morning appointment at the dentist. I lost a filling awhile back and have put this trip off long enough.
I hope you all have a great day ! Happy Thursday!
34 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
A stockpile of frozen dinners is a seasonal stress buster during the month of December. This week, add a few ready to cook meals to the freezer to prepare for the busy weeks ahead. At my house I usually do have a meal or two in the freezer as I freeze leftovers to have another time. One of my favorite holiday meals is Lasagna and it freezes really well. It’s so nice to have one on hand when company comes.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2237. for hot cereal on a cold morning

I love your "excuses" for turning on the oven. I will be trying both these new-to-me recipes really soon. Yum! (Now I'm hungry for oatmeal with eggnog.)
I am glad you shared what you did with the acorn squash, Ma. I'm going to try it sometime. I've been curious about them at the store, now I have a reason to buy one :)
And yum with the egg nog on the oatmeal! Whenever I see egg nog in the store, I know the holidays are around the corner!
