Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Here's a chance to get out and 'Dosey Do' with your partner. It's Square Dance Day!
English, Irish, and Scottish settlers brought square dancing to the U.S. As it evolved in the U.S., a caller was added, to help dancers stay in step. It remains popular among southern and western rural areas, and with senior citizens.
Couples square dance in circles or square formations. It's lively and quick, and lots of fun. Square Dancing is both fun, and great exercise. Dancing is beneficial for people of all ages.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is like dancing. If we have a big floor, many people will dance. Some will get angry when the rhythm changes. But life is changing all the time.
Don Miguel Ruiz
Back in the day square dancing actually was a part of our physical education classes at school. I don’t really know if they still do that or not. That’s a question I need to ask the grandchildren about. I always loved it and though not very good at it, had a good time.
Dancing of any kind always seems like such a happy thing and we often dance for joy when something great happens. I love to watch my little grand babes dance when they hear music. They really get into it. If only I had half their energy I’d be happy.
There won’t be a whole lot of dancing going on here at my house today as I fully intend to rest up a bit from our outing yesterday. I’ll have pictures to show of that later on. Today’s pictures are of some of my Christmas decorations that are going up here at my house this weekend. I’ll be putting on the Christmas tunes and decking the halls.
I hope you all have a super Saturday!

25 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Crunchy and sweet, this no bake snack mix in a jar is easy to make and fun to give
Blizzard Bites
To make Blizzard Bites, you'll layer crunchy cereal, pretzels and peanuts with tangy dried cranberries and candied pineapple in a Mason jar or canning jar, then add meltable white chocolate chips. The recipients of this gift in a jar can then melt the white chocolate chips and coat the snack mixture with a sweet holiday topping. It's simple ... and sweet!
A great gift for teachers, Secret Santa exchanges or 12 Days of Christmas activities.
1 cup Rice Chex brand cereal
1 cup small pretzel twists
1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
1/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/3 cup dried pineapple, coarsely chopped
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 canning jar, quart size with lid and ring
or 1 food storage bag
Pour melted white chocolate chips over snack mixture. Stir until snack mixture is evenly coated. Spread mixture in a single layer over waxed paper, and allow to cool completely.
Break mix into smaller pieces, and store in zipper food storage bags or an air tight storage containers
COUNTING MY GIFTS
You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.
William W. Purkey
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

ADVICE FOR TODAY
We're all fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance, right ?
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I liked the recipes shared here, Ma :) Simple, but sound delicious! I remember when I was in high school years ago we had in gym a 6 week session where we learned lots of different dances from around the world, including square dancing. It was fun. My niece when she was in elementary school did square dancing with a group comprised of all ages; she enjoyed that too :)
Have fun with your decorating!

I love seeing all your family photos.... and your Christmas decorations... Hubby has pulled out all the tubs of decorations from the garage and has already started putting lights up outside... tomorrow he will start on the inside... I remember square dancing in PE back in junior high... son3 is doing dancing this year but he says they are learning line dancing... Have a wonderful weekend! :)
