THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10
Thankfully we are all unique. We are each of us one of a kind. No two of us are alike and it’s best to remember just how special you are ! The good Lord only makes good things, and you are one of them!
Wouldn’t life be boring if we all did the same things and we all looked alike. We all have something that we’re good at. The talents we have should be put to good use too. Don’t waste a moment waiting for perfect to come, it never does. We are all human and all make mistakes but to do nothing because you won’t try is a waste. Use you talents and put them to good use.
If you think your talents are simply for you to make a lot of money, retire, and die, you’ve missed the point of your life. We are a managers of the gifts God has given to us. They may be great or small in our eyes, but they matter to God.
A talent is like a muscle. If you use it, it will grow. If you don’t, you’ll lose it. If you have a talent but are afraid to use it, or if you get lazy and don’t use it to benefit others, you’re going to lose it.
The weather word for today is rain they say, which is better than snow in my opinion. There are still a lot of leaves on the ground that need to be raked up and many folks are wondering if that will be done before the next snowfall comes. I guess it remains to be seen if it’ll dry out enough to do that. The next snow event is forecast for Thanksgiving weekend.
The pictures today were taken last Friday when I got to make an unexpected trip down to Amish country. We visited a Christmas store in the area of Shrock’s Amish Farm and Village, Tis the Season, and it was wonderful. We also got to stop at one of the many craft stores, Heini’s Cheese, Troyers bakery, Kaufmann’s bakery and had a delicious Lupper (lunch and supper). It was a brisk day with snow on the ground but the sun was shinning and it turned out to be a wonderful day. Thanks to the bakery I didn’t make my own pumpkin pies for our family feast, but those Amish know how to make good pies so all was good. I put my pie dough in the freezer to use another time.
I hope you all have a great start to this new week. Happy Monday !
It is a happy talent to know how to play.

30 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Remember: Holiday baking should be a pleasure, not a chore. Time to plan holiday baking with an eye to holiday simplicity! Sometimes less is more and sometimes bakeries do it better.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, I used everything you gave me.
Erma Bombeck
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2249. for talents to use to help others
2250. for a warmer day
2251. for children and grandchildren, they motivate me to do more
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.

Looked like a nice day trip, Ma, with the added bonus of getting the pies :)
So true that we all have talents that God gave us. Good for us to use them too to help keep the world running like it should :)

So you got a little bit of snow! I'm getting in the Christmas mood, too!
