IT’S SPRING!

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is the first day of Spring!!! Yea! When the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal. Seasons are opposite on either side of the equator, so the equinox in March is known as the Spring equinox.
At this point in the year I’m thankful I live in the Northern hemisphere because in the southern hemisphere today is the Fall Equinox. Strange how that works, but it’s true.
This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna, plants and animals.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven -
All's right with the world!
Robert Browning
After a long, nasty winter, spring has arrived, just like we knew it would if we could survive to see it. We did!
Did you know that eggs play a very important part in ancient myths regarding the vernal equinox? Of course, birds begin to lay their eggs in Spring, which was very significant to ancient folks. According to folklore, this is the one time of each year when an egg could be stood on end. If an egg can be balanced on it end during this equinox, at exactly the say time when the day and night are also in balance, then earth and nature are said to be in harmony.
I’d hoped that our snow would be long gone by the time Spring arrived, but we still have some small piles where the snow was the deepest and we do have a slight chance of more snow today.
I’m hoping to have some pretty spring blooms to show you soon.
Happy First Day of Spring!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.
Henry Ward Beecher
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached 1500 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1502. for the renewal of hope, which comes with Spring
1503. for a sunny day, even when it’s very cold out
1504. for a weather forecast showing temps in the 50’s
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
