Life is a Special Occasion!

OK, a word that is the most frequently spoken all purpose expressions on the planet, is turning 175 years old today, March 23rd. The term was born during a 19th century abbreviation craze and went on to international renown, with its own hand gesture, even. No matter where people are from they use the word ‘OK’. The expression was traced back to 1839, when editors at the Boston Morning Post signed off on articles as 'all correct' with a winking OK or all korrect. Okay!
I’m OK, are you OK?

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In the end, everything will be okay. If it's not okay, it's not yet the end.
Fernando Sabino
Ok is an overused expresion. Every time we turn around we here it. Is everything ok, was your stay ok? Is the weather ok there? Was your meal ok? All we really want to know is, if all is well. It’s nice to show our concern by asking, is everything ok?
I’ve tried to operate on the No News Is Good News principal for years now. If the news is bad, we’re sure to hear about it and if we don’t hear anything at all then it must be good news. Not hearing about a situation suggests that nothing bad has happened. And what I don’t know about, I try to leave in the hands of the good Lord.
Concern for others is okay. It’s when the concern turns into meddling in others business that it’s not okay. We want every thing to be well for those we love.
I hope you all are OK and have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Faith is not about everything turning out okay, faith is about being okay no matter how things turn out.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached 1500 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1511. for good news, when it comes
1512. for a few warmer and sunny days to enjoy
1513. for good night hugs, something I rarely get any more
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

I love your "thought for today", Ma!! I think "ok" is used too much also. "No news is good news" is how I look at it as well, even though the human side of me would like a confirmation of that.... sometimes we just have to trust God that if something was bad, we'd hear about it.
I also agree with you that folks meddle waaaaay too much & they can veil their meddling with the appearance of "concern". That's one of the main reasons I left Facebook a long long time ago. It felt to me like it was just one big party line, like the telephones from my childhood.
Have a blessed Sunday~ Andrea
XOXOXO
I enjoyed reading about the origins of the word "OK" Ma. How interesting. I do agree with you; no news is good news; I've come to adapt that in certain circumstances in my life and its proven to be true :)
I hope your Sunday was restful!

OK, how very interesting... I would have never even stopped to think where OK came from... Of course with texting it's been downsized to just K... :)
