Life is a Special Occasion!

Celebrated by women's rights activists across the world annually on March 8th, International Women's Day has been marked by the UN since 1975.
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
Give Yourself the Chance to Be Extraordinary
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
...and she can laugh at the days to come.
Proverbs 31:25
Today is a perfect day to be celebrating Women’s Day, it’s my birthday. I love everything about being a woman and am happy to be celebrating another year of life too! I seriously never thought I’d live to see this day, but as you can see, if you are reading this, I am here and still kicking.
I do remember my mom telling me about how cold and snowy it was when she went into the hospital to have me. Due to a very difficult delivery she was in the hospital for two weeks and when we were both released and sent home it was like springtime outside. That gives me hope that just maybe in two weeks time it will seem like springtime here again.
Being allowed to live another year and enjoy life is a gift and a privilege. I am so thankful this year to be well and able to enjoy it all. I know that it won't last forever but for this year it was good. They say that any time we get over the age of 70 is an extra blessing.
I hope you all have a super Saturday and celebrate along with me…the best is yet to be!
FINAL WARNING!
Time will Spring Forward 1 hour on Sunday, March 9th! It’s a good idea to turn those clocks ahead before you go to bed tonight.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Thank you, God, for giving me another year of life.
Thank you for all the people who remembered me today
by sending cards, and letters, gifts and good wishes.
Thank you for all the experience of this past year;
for times of success which will always be happy memories,
for times of failure which reminded me of my own weakness and of my need for you,
for times of joy when the sun was shining,
for times of sadness which drove me to you.
Forgive me for the hours I wasted,
for the chances I failed to take,
for the opportunities I missed this past year.
Help me in the days ahead to make this the best year yet,
and through it to bring good credit to myself,
happiness and pride to my loved ones,
and joy to you. Amen
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1466. so very thankful for the opportunity to celebrate another year of life
1467. thankful for all the blessings of the past year. Life. Peace. Hope. Love. Family. Friends. Church. Worship and so much more.
1468. for having a great family and friends that have been there for me when I needed them.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Psalm 90:10
The days of our lives add up to seventy years,
or eighty, if one is especially strong.
But even one’s best years are marred by trouble and oppression.
Yes, they pass quickly and we fly away.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Again happy birthday Ma! Enjoyed reading the story of your birth that your mom share; I too hope in the next two weeks spring becomes so evident in your part of the country! A great milestone to reach indeed to be 70!

Oh Pam, I am so sorry I missed your Birthday! I feel bad about that. You give so much to each of us each day with your cheerful and inspiring posts. It would have been so nice for you to get something back. In any case I do so hope that you had a lovely day! I always love reading about your childhood and things. Congrats on being 70! Two of my friends turned 70 this week too. It's a brilliant age. They 70 is the new 50 and you all are proving that is so! xxoo
Happy Birthday again... :)
