5 DAYS UNTIL SPRING!
Sunrise:7:40 am
Sunset: 7:35 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is the Ides is the Ides of March. But there's no need to be on guard. Julius Caesar probably should have been. But then, he ignored the soothsayer who told him to 'beware the Ides of March' in the first act of Shakespeare's play. You may or may not remember that one from English class.
The 'Ides of March’ does have a ring to it. And yet all it means is that it is halfway through the month. Hopefully the 2nd half of this March will be better weather wise that the 1st half was.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
March is a tomboy with tousled hair, a mischievous smile, mud on her shoes and a laugh in her voice.
Hal Borland
The pictures today are of Wednesday’s snow storm here in northern Ohio and also the brilliant blue skies that we had on Thursday after the storm The worst part of it all was the ice that formed before the snow came. We probably got another 4 inches of snow, but the wind blew and blew so there was some drifting making it deeper in places. Yesterday we got warmer, in the 50’s so some melting took place.
The Ides of March is a special day for me because every year at this time it seems I finally come out of my winter hibernation mode. Hurray!
I hope you all have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Just like the butterfly, I too will awaken in my own time.
Deborah Chaskin
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1487. for the end of my winter hibernation
1488. for making it halfway through another month
1489. for my wind chimes that hang outside the back door, they were a birthday gift
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn.
Quoted by Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
MY JOURNALS
You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought
Matthew 5:5 (MSG)

I DO remember "Beware the Ides of March"! I read that the Romans believed that the middle of any month was unlucky, but we remember March because of Shakespeare.
Now, this is NOT what you want to learn when you are born on April 15th!!! HA!! All your snow, my dear, I will be so happy for you when it is all over and it is SPRING!!
Please, no more snow for everyone!
It almost hurts to look at the pictures!
Hurray for coming out of your winter hibernation mode... the changing of the clocks seem to have taken me out of mine... Go play with your label maker while you wait for the snow to completely melt... Happy Saturday!!! :)
Such a beautiful blue sky!! I do remember the Ides of March from my high school days! I am glad ot hear you are getting out of your winter hibernation, Ma, and just in time with spring around the corner next week!

I have heard the phrase "Ides of March," but not known what it meant until now, or if I did, I had forgotten. (Which seems to be happening a LOT these days!) I love the quote from Hal Borland. It sounds like March! Loved the pictures and those beautiful blue skies. What is it about a blue sky that pricks our hearts and brings such joy?? I don' know but if I could bottle that feeling and sell it I would be a wealthy woman!
Hooray for the end of hibernation! I love it! xxoo
