ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

IT'S SUMMER !!!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
The summer solstice heralds the beginning of summer. This year, the solstice is on June 21 at 1:04 A.M. ET. The timing of the solstice depends on when the Sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator. The word solstice is from the Latin solstitium, from sol (sun) and statism (to stop), reflecting the fact that the Sun appears to stop at this time (and again at the winter solstice). In temperate regions, we notice that the Sun is higher in the sky throughout the day, and its rays strike Earth at a more direct angle, causing the efficient warming we call summer.
No price is set on the lavish summer;
June may be had by the poorest comer.
James Russell Lowell
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I pray that the life of this spring and summer may ever lie fair in my memory.
Henry David Thoreau
I do treasure these summer days. They tend to fly by way to fast and then poof, they are but memories. Half of our year here in northern Ohio tends to be on the cold and dreary side of things so I do relish the sunny warm days of summer. Yes, sometimes it gets a bit hot, but then that is what air conditioning is for. The better part of our summer days can be enjoyed outdoors and that feels so good when you've had to stay inside so much.
My summer vacation days will be more or less spent right here at home this year, but every moment of summer will bring some kind of an adventure. Every day of my life is like that in one way or another.
Tip for today: To save water, only water your lawn when footprints show. Healthy lawns that spring back up don’t need water.
I'm hoping you all have a wonderful summer and relish the days we are given. Remember no matter where you go, the good Lord is always with you!
Have a fantastic Friday everyone!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Then followed that beautiful season... Summer.... Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
691. for summer days
692. for outdoor time
693. for vacations, a time when family can enjoy being together
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.
Russel Baker
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
