ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2011
It's TUESDAY!
WORLD GRATITUDE DAY
World Gratitude Day is your opportunity to show your gratitude and appreciation.
The United Nations Meditation Group created World Gratitude Day to express appreciation for the great things that individuals and groups do. This recognition is on a global basis. According to their website: World Gratitude Day presents an award to someone who we feel has done something outstanding in the spirit of Globalism. This group also suggests that you find something to be grateful for, and remember the feeling.
On a smaller scale, seek to give gratitude and appreciation to people in your life who have done good deeds. It could be something as simple as a thank you or a card of thanks to someone. Or, you could offer some type of certificate or plaque of appreciation from a group you belong to, for contributions from individuals inside or outside of your group
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
William Arthur Ward
Be Thankful Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
National Punch Day
With the holidays fast approaching, it's time to think punch again. A little fruit juice, fizzy soda pop, and maybe several splashes of spirits are some basic ingredients often found in a punch bowl
Starting with Halloween, then on to Christmas and New Year's, punch is served! The light, fizzy, fruity beverage makes a party seem like an occasion.
Halloween Punch
12 ounces orange juice concentrate, frozen
12 ounces grape juice, white
2 light 7-Up
1 pint sherbet, lemon or lime
green food coloring
Mix together orange juice, white grape juice, 7-Up, lemon or lime sherbet, and several drops of green food coloring If desired, serve with large, buoyant, and well-washed plastic spiders on the top!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don't unravel.

It all comes down to our own attitude, how we see, how we react, and what we do.
There are many people in my life that I'd like to express my gratitude to. My family and my friends do so much to make my life happier. The mail man who delivers my mail, the vast number of people in our military and those that provide our EMT services, policemen, and firefighters . The farmers that produce our food. The people everywhere that help to make each day better.
There is so much in my life to be thankful for that there really should never be a day that I could complain about. It's always much better to take time to count my blessings.
Just know that if you are reading this today I'm very THANKFUL for you and express my gratitude to you for being there and taking the time to read this every day.
Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING THE DAYS
Gratitude is the best attitude.
