ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SEPTEMBER 19TH, 2011
It's MONDAY!
National Clean Hands Week
Keeping hands clean is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of infection and illness.
Hand washing is easy to do and it's one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of many types of infection and illness in all settings—from your home and workplace to child care facilities and hospitals. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community
Washing hands with soap and water is the best way to reduce the number of germs on them. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can quickly reduce the number of germs on hands in some situations, but sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs.
Hand sanitizers are not effective when hands are visibly dirty.
We all know that coughs and sneezes spread diseases. In honor of National Clean Hands Week, please take a few moments to remember to practice good hand hygiene to help keep our friends, family, and colleagues safe during the flu season and throughout the year
The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.

BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING DAY
Butter and brown sugar are the basic building blocks of that beloved flavor, butterscotch! This year on National Butterscotch Pudding Day, remember that pudding isn't always about the chocolate
BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING MONKEY BREAD
1 package (3-1/2oz.) Cook and Serve Butterscotch Pudding Mix,NOT INSTANT
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 tubes regular sized refrigerated Biscuits
In plastic bowl with tight fitting lid, combine pudding mix, sugar, cinnamon and pecans. Pour butter into shallow bowl. Cut biscuits into quarters. Dip several pieces into butter, then place in a bowl with dry ingredients, replace lid and shake. Start lining a 10" greased Bundt pan with coated biscuit pieces. Continue doing in batches until they are all piled on top of each other in Bundt pan. You may need to melt a little more butter to finish up biscuit pieces. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 30 to 35 minutes, they should be golden brown. Cool in pan 30 minutes. Place large cake like dish over Bundt pan and invert. Before lifting pan off monkey bread, tap bottom of pan good all over the bottom. Lift gently off.
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
I think you might dispense with half your doctors if you would only consult Dr. Sun more.
Henry Ward Beecher
Our days are getting shorter and cooler and many people are spending less time outdoors. No wonder we begin to see signs of colds and flu everywhere. I've always thought that fresh air and sunshine were important to anyone's health. I remember that when my own children were small, the doctor always said to make sure they got outside everyday if only for 20 minutes.
I know I will be missing the sunshine in the days ahead, but when it is shinning you can bet I'll be outside enjoying it, if only for those 20 minutes.
