ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
AUGUST 27TH, 2011
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's SATURDAY!
JUST BECAUSE DAY
Today is Just Because Day. Finally, you have a chance to do something without a rhyme or reason. Most often in life, we do things because we have to, or we want to, or it's expected of us. None of those reasons apply today.
Is there something you'd like to do, but there isn't a reason or logic for doing it? Well, today is the day to go out and do something just because. It is most enjoyable if it is an uncommon, or unexpected activity or action. Perhaps, you have something in mind. If not, just go with the first thing that comes to your mind. Just because activities often come from a whim or a what if I type of thought.
It's all about celebrating life, free afternoons, and family!
You don't need a reason to give someone a gift or try something new.
Do it JUST BECAUSE.
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you - not because
they are nice, but because you are.

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
BANANA LOVERS DAY
It's back-to-school season, a perfect time for Banana Lover's Day. Bananas are a lunchbox staple for children around North America.
Even kids and monkeys probably know that bananas are a good source of potassium. But did you know that eating bananas while they're still on the green side can provide important dietary starch? Raw, fried, baked, or dehydrated, banana lovers rejoice!
I found this recipe for a very different kind of sandwich. It sounds like something I might like to try out.
BANANA BACON SANDWICH
1/2 cup Crushed bananas
1 apple
4 Bacon slices, cooked crisp
1 Salt and lettuce
Crush banana, chop crisped bacon and mince apple. Mix, add salt, spread between buttered slices of bread and add lettuce leaf
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
Keep your words soft and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them.

Just sharing one of my morning devotionals with you today...
We often mention that life is fragile and precious. This is true but we so often take life for granted when everything is going well. The current economic downturn has caused everyone to look at life again, to rethink our values and priorities. We are adapting to living with less. We are making sure that we survive and adapt to lots of changes all around us.
A big help in our rethink of values and priorities, is to see each moment of every day as precious and sacred. It puts us in a much better position to adapt to the world we live in. Each moment is lent to us, to use and maximise. Equally we can also waste or ignore them. It is so much easier to use and maximise them, if we see them as given to us from the hand of an infinitely loving God.
Each day is a gift!
HAVE A WONDERFUL SATURDAY!
and here's a little joke I found on the internet...
The U.S. Geological Survey has determined that the epicenter of the Virginia earthquake was in a graveyard just outside of Washington, D.C.
The cause appears to be the Founding Fathers rolling over in their grave
COUNTING THE DAYS
Always remember to be happy because you never know who's falling in love with
your smile.

26 DAYS UNTIL FALL
1 comment:
I was just thinking yesterday how fragile life is . . . because of illnesses, natural disasters, tragedies, etc. Today really is a gift; I sometimes lose focus of that.
Love the joke about the earthquake!!
Have a blessed Sunday and a great week ahead!
