ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
AUGUST 23RD, 2011
If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side
It's TUESDAY!
Ride the Wind Day
Ride the Wind Day is a carefree day to soar above the earth. You can catch a ride with the breeze, or float along slowly like a gentle, late summer cloud.
Summer will soon be over. Catching the drift of this day is easy. Just relax, and let the wind carry you away in whatever direction it is blowing. Leave your troubles and worries behind for a spell, as you waft in the air.
Just kick back and enjoy one of the last days of summer
And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
Kahlil Gibran

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
DUST IF YOU MUST
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better,
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come 'round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not always kind.
And when you go and go you must,
You, yourself, will make more dust.

Heaven only knows that I don't do much dusting around here. I do take the time to put together a letter everyday though. I love these summer days with the wind in my hair and just enjoying the beauty all around us. It's hard to believe that summer is just about gone and cold dreary days are just ahead. We definitely have to make the most of each day as it comes now. We had a beautiful day in the low 70's here yesterday...it was just wonderful!
This evening is our Tuesday for dulcimer which is always a fun time. It hardly seems possible that a month has gone by already.
I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
COUNTING THE DAYS
If you wait until the wind and weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything.
Ecclesiastes 11:4
30 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
