ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FEBRUARY 24TH, 2010
It's WEDNESDAY!
Over the Hump Day!
In Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, the disagreeable nature of the weather is attributed to it being Winds-Day
I think that we are supposed to be getting a little more of that disagreeable weather in the next few days.
The older I get the more I like children’s books. They often add a little humor to my life and for that I am thankful. I need all I can get.
THINKING
If you are not as close to God as you used to be, who moved?
Anonymous
Lent is not all about giving things up that we love to do or to have. It’s also about adding good things up to our lives or to others’ lives. The kind of good things that follow on what Jesus asks of us
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
SANDWICH NIGHT
Here is one that really sounds good, but different too!
Cold Ham Sandwich Pizza
1/2 cup cream cheese with chives, softened
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. horseradish sauce
1 prepared Boboli pizza crust
1-1/2 cups chopped cooked ham
1-1/2 cups chopped plum tomatoes
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
1/4 cup creamy Italian salad dressing
In small bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and horseradish sauce and blend well. Spread over the pizza crust. Top with ham, plum tomatoes, and lettuce and drizzle with salad dressing. Cut into wedges and serve immediately.

PRAYERS
Dear Father, give us a forgiving heart, and help us remember that you ask us not to judge others. May we proclaim peace and unity in all that we do.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
This picture was in one of the blogs I read yesterday. I couldn’t help but copy it to pass along to you all. It sure gave me a good laugh for sure. It’s true those snowmen won’t be around much longer!
Hang in there!

I love your snowman picture. I got it from the net so it's up for use by anyone. And thanks for the reminder that Lent isn't about just giving up things. As I give up chocolate, I'm hoping to take up more of Christ.
Happy blustery day! (We get one tomorrow!)
The snowmen pic is the cutest! Someone is very creative. I, too, love children's books, especially those that are beautifully illustrated. My sister always gives me a children's book for Christmas, and I love her carefully selected choices. Being a kid at heart is a good thing, don't you think?
