ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FEBRUARY 10TH, 2010
It's WEDNESDAY!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
More snow yesterday and overnight and more coming today. By the time I got home from work yesterday we probably had over 3 more inches of snow on the ground. They say we’ll be getting a few more inches today too with blowing and drifting snow causing problems.
BrrrChill!!!
THINKING
When you’re tempted to lose patience with someone, think about how patient God has been with you
In our hectic daily life it is so easy to speak without listening first. In the book of James we read that quickness is reserved for our ears. We’re supposed to be quick to listen. Think about how much trouble we could avoid if we learned to listen before we speak.
Post this at all the intersections, dear friends. Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear.
James 1:19 The Message
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
You can pile all kinds of substantial and tasty ingredients between 2 slices of bread for satisfying, complete meals any night of the week.
Sausage Hoagie
1/2 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage
1/2 medium sweet red pepper, julienned
1 small onion, halved and thinly sliced
1-1/2 teaspoons butter
1/2 cup chopped tomato, optional
1 to 2 tablespoons mustard or mayonnaise
2 hoagie buns, split and toasted
Cut sausage in half widthwise; cut each piece lengthwise to within 1/4 in. of opposite side. Place sausage cut side down in a large skillet; add red pepper, onion and butter. Cook over medium-high heat until vegetables are tender.
Add tomato if desired; heat through. Spread mustard or mayo over cut sides of buns; fill with sausage and vegetables.
Makes 2 servings
PRAYERS
Creator God, help us resist the temptation to grumble. Teach us to speak to each other in love, especially when we disagree.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AMEN
AROUND HOME
On these gloomy days I try to wear something bright and colorful. I keep thinking it’ll cheer me up and improve my attitude.
It’s hard to be optimistic with a face full of snow every time you step out the door, but I’m still trying.
FAMILY
Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love
Mother Teresa
This Saturday DD and I have our annual President’s Day shopping trip to the Outlet Mall. We’ve gone for many years and always find some of the best buys. We used to go on President’s Day, but our jobs interfere with that so we’ve changed our date to the weekend. Hopefully we won’t get snowed out.
COUNTING THE DAYS

I appreciate the "Thinking" section of today's post! Patience . . . listening ... two areas in which I need God's help! And He has been patient with me!
