ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FEBRUARY 11TH, 2010
It's THURSDAY!
BRRRCHILL!
This cold weather and snow are getting to me for sure but I’m still hanging in there.
We had at least as much snow on Wednesday as we did on Tuesday if not more. The wind picked up and we had lots of blowing and drifting too.
I’m thinking I don’t like Winter much but that’s ok, I don’t have to like it but I do have to endure it. At least next winter I won’t have to go out and drive in it. I’m going to stock up and stay in. I’ll be hibernating just like the bears do.
THINKING
In C. S. Lewis’ fictional world of Narnia, it was winter for a hundred years with no hope of springtime ever arriving to wipe away the memories of icy temperatures and piles of white stuff. I cannot imagine what that would be like at all. At least we have hope and do know that Spring will come again this year.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning
Psalm 30:5
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
BREAKFAST FOR SUPPER
A Western omelet with a bunch of grapes and/or a small tossed salad is tasty, filling, nutritious and you can have it on the table in 20 minutes or less, even counting taking time to chop up the ham, onions and peppers
Make this omelet in smaller portions for Western sandwiches
2 tablespoons butter
6 large eggs
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup chopped cooked ham
3/4 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
ketchup
In skillet melt butter. Beat eggs and whisk in remaining ingredients. Pour mixture into hot skillet. Cook, stirring to cook evenly. Turn and cook other side. Serve while still somewhat moist and creamy. Serve with ketchup
Don’t forget Friday is Pizza Night!
PRAYERS
Help me, Lord, to remember how my actions and words may affect another.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
In wintertime, a condition known as a whiteout sometimes occurs. The air becomes so filled with powdery snow that you can't see more than a few feet ahead. We’ve had a few of those times lately.
I’ve stepped outside my back door only to have a face full of snow. The wind has been swirling it around so that no matter what direction you face the snow comes right at me. I’ve been so glad to get home in the evening and not have to go outside again.
Our church has continued with the book club and the Bible studies this month, but I’ve opted to stay in and not go. It is just too cold.
FAMILY
I got a Valentine card from DS#6 and his wife in the mail yesterday. I don’t know if I’ll get mine sent out or not. I bought them but haven’t done anything with them yet.
We’ll see…
I send my love every day in a letter anyway…
