ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FEBRUARY 22ND, 2010
It's MONDAY!
The first U.S. president, George Washington, was born at his parents' plantation in the Virginia Colony in 1732.
I suspect his parents never dreamed that one day their son would be our first President or that the colony they lived in would be one of the United States.
In my trivia for today it said that George Washington had 36 dogs on his Mt. Vernon estate and had a Dalmatian named Sweet Lips
Just thought you might enjoy that little bit of info today…
THINKING
Lent is a time when we make a fresh start, when we try again…
There is but one body and one Spirit, just as there is but one hope given all of you by your call. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, Who is over all, and works through all, and is in all
Eph 4:4-6
The Church, the body of Christ, is severely disunited. We believe in the same God, Lord, Spirit, and Scriptures, but this has not restored our unity.
Today: Please pray for Christian Unity
I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me
John 17:21

PRAYERS
You are my God, I will give thanks to you;
my God, I will give you praise.
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
and his kindness is for ever
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
Back to work today!
I’m hoping that the weather doesn’t get as bad as it sounds for this week. Freezing rain today and then snow most every day after that too. The few days of sunshine we had last week were wonderful. But I need more of those for sure
There is nothing besides work on my calendar this week. Maybe that’s a good thing as I don’t think I’ll want to go out again after getting home for the evening.
It’s going to be a good week just to hibernate.
FAMILY
The best things in life aren't things. How often we strive to achieve material that we think will make us happy, but in the end it is not material things that make us the happiest. It is those moments, memories, the love of our family and friends - no material thing could ever replace these.
Sunday evening is always the time that most of my family chooses to check in with me.
Sometimes it’s every other week or every other month and sometimes it’s every other year… but the phone line is usually busy then.
Sundays at our house were always family days. A day to do things together and enjoy a picnic, or a barbeque, or a game around the dining room table. Maybe that is why it is a good day to check in…I’m not sure, I’m just grateful that they do.
