It's FINALLY FRIDAY!
They say more snow is on the way today. It may be more south and east of us but we don’t know for sure yet. Anyway some of us may get a significant snow fall before the day is done. I’m glad it is the end of the week and not the beginning of one. Shoveling snow is much easier done on the weekend than on Monday morning before work.
THINKING
JOY is a decision of the will to find satisfaction in what God has given
Those who experienced joy are often not the ones in the best of circumstances. We need to learn to center our minds on the things that bring true joy, and we'll find that God is a basis of everlasting joy both in the situations in which He places us and in the good things that lie ahead.
God gives a supernatural joy for us to hold on to
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
A Snack Idea for Super Bowl Sunday!
BAKED POTATO DIP
1 tub (16 oz) reduced-fat sour cream
1⁄2 cup light mayonnaise
4 oz Cheddar cheese, shredded (1 cup)
4 scallions, finely chopped
6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Accompaniments: potato chips and cut-up raw vegetables for dipping
Mix ingredients in a medium bowl until blended. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours for flavors to blend, or overnight. Serve with chips and vegetables

Just sharing an e-mail I received with you all today.
Grandma’s Apron
I don't think our kids know what an apron is. The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath, because she only had a few, it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and they used less material, but along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.
It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears..
From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven.
When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids. And when the weather was cold grandma wrapped it around her arms.
Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove..
Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.
From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls.
In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees.
When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.
When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folks knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner.
It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes.
REMEMBER:
Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool.
Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw.
They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron.

Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of peace of the world

How well I know that children soon grow up. I often remember the fun of a large family and the times we had together. Families are a lot of work too, but well worth every bit of time spent with them.
The best way I know I to stay close is to do things together and share
Seize each moment you have to love and honor your family.
The opportunity won't last forever.

We have had nothing but cold freezing rain all night and day. Thanks for the reminder Spring is around the corner.
Is there not a young man in your neighborhood that you could pay to shovel your drive? I know that has to be hard on you.
