ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FEBRUARY 19TH, 2010
It's FRIDAY!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRINCE CHARMING!
I wish Our Prince Charming a very Happy Day!
May the dear Lord Bless YOU today and always!
Finally it is the end of the work week and I’m always ready for that. There is really nothing special going on this weekend. It will be a busy one just because I have a lot to do here at home. I seem to play catch up on the weekends for what didn’t get done during the week.
I hope your weekend is a great one!
THINKING
Make this Lent more meaningful.
Today: Skip reading magazines, blogs, or anything else in the world that inspires self-pity instead of self-confidence
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Fridays Are Pizza Night
When we are camping DS#1 and family often make pizza pie irons at the campfire and I do love them. Today my pizza will be the frozen variety. And it’ll be a cheese pizza at that. I’ll just pop it in the oven and it’ll be done in just a few minutes.
For those of you that like to make your own, here is a recipe you might like to try out sometime…The pizza, from start to finish, can be ready to
pop in the oven in less than 30 minutes
Crust
1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees F.)
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups flour
Crust
1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees F.)
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups flour
Dissolve the yeast in the water. Add the rest of the ingredients in and mix
Dump onto a floured surface
Kneed into a smooth dough
Roll out and press down onto a greased pizza pan.
Add toppings. Be creative and add your favorites
Bake at 450 degrees 12-15 minutes til crust is crispy and lightly browned
Tip: I found that if you grease your fingers it is much easier to press the pizza dough in the pan
God our Father, we thank you today for those people whom we will never know who make our lives better for what they offer, those far away, and those very near
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
We did see some sunshine here in my part of the world yesterday. It was windy and cold, but the sun made it seem so much nicer outside.
When I sit at my desk at work I can tell the sun is much higher in the sky now than it was. For the first time in a long while I had to pull the shade as the sun hit me right in the eyes . On the few brief days of sun that we had the past few months, I didn’t need the shade at all.
Spring is coming ! Hang in there!
FAMILY
The best things in life aren't things. How often we strive to achieve material that we think will make us happy, but in the end it is not material things that make us the happiest. It is those moments, memories, the love of our family and friends - no material thing could ever replace these.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Yesterday is experience. Tomorrow is hope.
Today is getting from one to another as best we can.
