TODAY'S THOUGHT
There is no exercise better for the heart than
reaching down and lifting people up

JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will recognize that I am living a life over flowing with blessings. The biblical land flowing with milk and honey represents spiritual abundance and freedom. The truth is that I am living in a land flowing with milk and honey right here and right now

It's taken me all my life to understand that it is
not necessary to understand everything

IT’S THURSDAY !!
The busy days this week have been long and hard so far. I find I’m ready to go home by 2 but have to work til 4. My energy level is dwindling already due to the lack of sunshine we’ve had this summer I’m sure. Or could it be I’m getting older??
We really have had sunshine all week so far but of course I’m at work and not outside soaking it up. This weekend still looks bright and sunny so I will be spending a lot of time in the sun.
I’ve been working on my laundry and also getting some fall decorations up during the evenings this week. Right now my house looks as though a tornado hit it. I’ve also started digging in the closet for some warmer clothing. The 48 degree mornings we had so far this week required more than my usual summertime wear.
It’s all about layers and I’ve got lots of those so not to worry I won’t need to go shopping anytime soon. Our workplace is very casual so I usually wear shorts or Capri’s and now we are looking at jeans and kakis. The Flip Flops that my feet dearly love will soon be a thing of the past.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Father, may we worship you with all that we are, with all our love
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!

The “Good” Old Days – Comments You Don’t Hear Much Of Anymore . . .
Be sure and refill the ice trays, we are going to have company after while.
Watch for the postman, I want to get this letter in the mail today.
Quit slamming that screen door!
Be sure to pull the windows down when you leave, it looks like it might shower -- and bring in the clothes on the line, too.
Don't forget to wind the clock before you go to bed.
Wash your feet before you go to bed, they are nasty from playing barefooted outside all day.
Why can't you remember to roll up your pants legs? Getting them caught in the bicycle chain so many times is tearing them up.
You have torn the knees out of that pair of pants so many times there is nothing left to put a patch on.
Don't you go outside with your good school clothes on!
Hang up your Sunday School clothes, you know you need to pass them down to your brother in good condition.
Be sure and pour the cream off the top of the milk when you open the new bottle.
I need it for baking and Pa's coffee.
Take that empty bottle to the store with you so you won't have to pay a deposit on another one.
Put a dish towel over the cake so the flies won't get on it.
Quit jumping on the floor! I have a cake in the oven and you are going to make it fall if you don't quit!
Let me know when the Fuller Brush man comes by, I need to get a few things from him.
You boys stay close by, the car may not start and I will need you to help push it off.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
God, Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you
Hebrews 13:5
When you’re feeling impatient, lean on the God who is always with you. He’ll turn your impatience into patient trust. Patience means awaiting God’s time without doubting God’s love
TODAY’S ADVICE
If you burn food and want to get rid of the smell, boil a small amount of vinegar on the stove
