TODAY'S THOUGHT
A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in
Robert Orben
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will remember that things of the world are temporary, but things of the Spirit are eternal.
TODAY’S QUOTE
The only thing wrong with doing nothing is that you never know when you're finished

IT’S SATURDAY !!
Surprise ! I’m at home this morning. I never really left except early Friday morning to take my car in for its servicing. They underestimated the time it would take to fix it all and they overbooked the technician that was working on it as he was also working on another car at the same time. Makes you wonder doesn’t it.
So I did some stuff here at home and hopefully today sometime before noon they will call and let me know that my car is finally ready. Then I’ll head out to the camper.
If it is after noon then I’ll just stay at home because it wouldn’t be worth the trip out there only to come home again on Sunday afternoon/evening.
My long weekend wasn’t quite what I had anticipated but then life is like that sometimes!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Father, let your love wash over the earth today.
Show me how to share that love in everything I do today
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!

THE GREAT CONSPIRACY
Have you ever noticed that when you're of a certain age, everything seems uphill from where you are?
Stairs are steeper.
Groceries are heavier. And, everything is farther away.
Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long our street had become! And, you know, people talk quieter now. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face!
I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me.I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own refection... Well, REALLY NOW ... even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!
Another thing, everyone drives so fast today! You're risking life and limb if you just happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror.
Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices that these things no longer fit around the waist, hips, thighs, and bosom?
The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank, but in reverse. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial?
HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on - but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number there!
All I can do is to pass along this warning: Maturity is under attack! Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon ‘everyone’ will have to suffer these awful indignities
TODAY’S REFLECTION
Jesus said to his disciples: A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thorn bushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles. A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks
Luke 6: 43-49
Jesus uses images from nature to talk about how our actions reflect who and what we are. He says that “every tree is known by its own fruit.” Jesus encourages us to look at what is in our mind and heart and then compare it with our actions. Actions are the fruits of our thoughts and desires, motivations and interests, joys, pains, and hurts. But Jesus goes further. He also challenges us to compare what is in our mind and in our heart with his Word.
