TODAY'S THOUGHT
There is no delight in owning anything unshared
Seneca
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will acknowledge my blessings one by one. I will be aware of the goodness of God all around me
TODAY’S QUOTE
If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen

IT’S THURSDAY !!
AND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DS#5
May the dear Lord Bless you always.
His birthday isn’t till this weekend but I’ll be gone so I thought I’d put this in today
My old camping buddy’s birthday is this weekend too – so Happy Birthday to you too dear friend!
Well now wouldn’t you know it – our weather forecast has changed. I knew it would be too good to be true if we had a week without rain. It is only a chance both Friday and Saturday so maybe there is still hope.
This week has been a busy one for me, but if all goes well my work will be done and the desk clear when I leave work this evening. It will make Monday much nicer if there is nothing left to catch up on. The boss does a fine job of loading up my desk with things while I’m away anyway.
I do hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with sunshine and SMILES and lots of R & R too. If the good Lord permits it, I’ll be back with my newsletter come Monday morning.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Lord, help us to trust that everything we seek can be found in serving you.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

TODAY’S SMILE
THE MOST IMPORTANT BODY PART
My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body and through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger I thought sound was very important to us as humans so I said my ears mommy. She said "No, many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon."
Several years passed before she asked me again. Since my last attempt I contemplated a correct answer. So I told her "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me that I was learning fast but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind.
Stumped again I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years she asked me a couple more times and always the same answer "No. But you are getting smarter every year my young child."
Then last year my Grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it is only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa. She asked me "Do you know the most important body part yet my son?" And I was shocked she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me.
She saw the confusion on my face and told me "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past I have told you that it was wrong and given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson."
She looked down at me like only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "Son the most important body part is your shoulder." Was it because it held up my head? She replied, "No, because it can hold the head of a friend or loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life my son. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it."
Then and there I knew the most important body part was not selfish, it was sympathetic to the pain of OTHERS. You are a friend and whenever you want you can cry on my shoulder!!!
People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did, but People will never forget how you made them feel.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
She keeps shouting
Matthew 15:23
The Syro-Phoenician Gentile woman in the Gospel believed in Jesus, because she had heard of His great works. Like the man born blind, she must have intuitively known that no one could do such healing works if God was not with Him. So she persevered in imploring Jesus for her request, believing in Jesus' ultimate power, refusing to be discouraged by what she saw and heard in the present moment. We should make it our priority to listen only to God. Yet, even when what the Lord says seems discouraging, we must pray without ceasing and not lose heart and not give in to discouragement
