ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
AUGUST 10TH, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Are you rich?
Think about it...friendships are priceless, time is invaluable, health is wealth, and love is a treasure
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will focus on positive thoughts and hold them in prayer, fully expecting good outcomes. If thoughts of fear or lack pop up, I will release them just as I would remove weeds from my garden
TODAY’S QUOTE
We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.
Anne Frank
IT’S MONDAY !!
Back to work once more!
After a very restful and relaxing weekend I’m off to work as usual today. This will be a full 5 day work week. The boss is on vacation this week so it will be quiet in our office for sure.
There is really nothing but work on my calendar this week so it will be a quiet one all the way round.
I talked to DS#6 and #1 yesterday evening and all is well with both of them. A little hectic and busy but they are well. DD and her hubby joined me at the camp ground on Saturday evening and we managed to go swimming on Sunday afternoon as our weather was hot and sunny.
I heard via e-mail from DS#5 and he finished up with the state fair on Sunday so he’ll be home and getting ready for back to school this week. DDIL#3 sent some lovely pictures of their vacation by e-mail too. It looks like they had a great time all around.
That’s the news from home as I know it!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Thank you, God, for providing what we need. Help us to be so in tune with
the Holy Spirit that we never overlook your gifts of love and guidance
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you.
I can allow you freedom, but I cannot account for it.
I can take you to church, but I cannot make you believe.
I can teach you right from wrong, but I cannot always decide for you.
I can buy you beautiful clothes, but I cannot make you beautiful inside.
I can offer you advice, but I cannot accept it for you.
I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you.
I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish.
I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor.
I can advise you about friends, but cannot choose them for you.
I can tell you the facts of life, but I can't build your reputation.
I can tell you about drink, but I can't say "no" for you.
I can warn you about drugs but I can't prevent you from using them.
I can tell you about lofty goals, but I can't achieve them for you.
I can teach you about kindness, but I can't force you to be gracious.
I can warn you about sins, but I cannot make you moral
I can love you as a child, but I cannot place you in God's family.
I can pray for you, but I cannot make you walk with God.
I can teach you about Jesus, but I cannot make Jesus your Lord.
I can tell you how to live, but I cannot give you eternal life.
I can love you with unconditional love all of my life . . . and I will!!!
Always, Mom
TODAY’S REFLECTION
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you...Do not let your hearts be troubled...
John 14:27
The more quietly and peaceably we all get on the better for ourselves and for our neighbors. In nine cases out of ten the wisest policy is, if a man cheats you, quit dealing with him; if he is abusive, quit his company; if he slanders you, take care to live so that nobody will believe him: no matter who he is, or how he misuses you, the wisest way is generally to let him alone; for there is nothing better than this cool, calm, quiet way of dealing with the wrongs we meet with
Bishop Patrick

If you can't get your corn immediately into the steamer, get it on ice. The sweetness of corn fades quickly at 70° F
