ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

54 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Life is a Special Occasion!
Today is Opposite Day which is a topsy, turvy day when everything you say, do, see, and hear are the opposite. If you say go left, you mean go right. If you say look up, it means look down. It is a day to have fun all day long saying exactly opposite of what you really mean.
You could have desert for breakfast of breakfast for dinner. Everything is the opposite.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Your words mean nothing when your actions are the complete opposite.
I have a hard enough time keeping things on track here without doing things the opposite way today, but I do often have breakfast for dinner so I may just do that.
After a cold and perhaps snowy start to the day it's to be a bright and sunny here with temps in the mid 30’s. I’m thankful I have a reason to go out and about. It’s been 6 weeks since my last hair cut and I’m beginning to look a little shabby. That is the thing about having short hair, it doesn’t take long for it to grow out. When I wore it longer it seemed to take forever for it to grow.
I also need to put some gas in the car. I don’t go much in the winter or very far when I do, so it seems I don’t have to fill up very often. They do say you should keep your gas tank as full as possible in the wintertime. So whenever it reaches the half full mark I try to fill up. Not only does it assure you have sufficient fuel in the event your are stuck or stranded in the snow, it’s good for your car and will keep your gas line from freezing up.
It’s a quiet week here and I’m thankful for that. After the weeks of snow storms and bitter cold it feels good to be back to normal. Today’s pictures are from this past summer, the opposite of this winter.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It National Irish Coffee Day which is a delicious drink made with black coffee, sugar, Irish whiskey and whipped cream.
Joe Sheridan, a bartender at Foynes Airbase in Ireland, invented the delicious cocktail in 1942. A group of passengers stopped at Sheridan's bar after a miserably cold eighteen hour journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Joe brewed hot coffee, added a splash of whiskey, and offered the concoction to the travelers
Ten years later, Jack Koeppler, the owner of the Buena Vista bar in San Francisco, and travel writer Stanton Delaplane teamed up to bring Joe’s famous Irish coffee to the States. The popularity of the drink soon spread nationwide and it's been a favorite ever since.
While I do love my flavored coffee, this is not a favorite of mine, so no recipe to share today.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
When you're happy you don't always have to be laughing, and when you're sad you don't have to be crying; sometimes it's the opposite. You laugh when you're the most upset.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5653. for a sunny day
5654. for a hair cut, always makes me feel better
5655. for plenty of gas in the car, a must in winter
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Failure is not the opposite of success. It is part of success.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
