THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The question comes up every year for holiday shoppers, Should I take advantage of Black Friday or wait a few more days for Cyber Monday?

I don’t do much online shopping but I have done some, so I guess I can celebrate today. I prefer actually seeing what I’m buying, but if it’s something I know will fit, I will order it. I don’t like having to return things, so I stick to the tried and true. For instance my favorite shoes were bought on line. I’ve worn the same brand for years and I know exactly the size to get. The ones I have are wearing out and so today I’ll probably shop for new ones !
Today’s pictures are of some of my decorations I bought on Black Friday years ago. I didn’t see them online but went to the store to buy them.
Although I still have a few leftovers, it’s my day to cook up something new here and on the menu for today is:
Turkey Noodle Soup
Makes 7 servings
2 cans, 14/5 oz. each, chicken broth
3 cups water
1 3/4 cups sliced carrots
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 celery ribs, sliced
1 pkg, 12 oz, egg noodles
3 cups chopped cooked turkey
1 pkg frozen peas
2 envelopes ckicken gravy mix
1/2 cup cold water
In a large pan, bring to boil the broth, water, carrots, onion and celery. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 6 minutes or until vegetables are crisp tender. Add noodles, simmer uncovered 20 minutes or until noodles are tender.
Stir in turkey and peas. Combine gravy mixes and cold water until smooth, stir into soup. Bring to a boil and cook util thickened.
I don’t have peas today, will omit them from my recipe. And am also omiting the gravy mixes as I prefer a clear broth. This is an easy way to use up some of those leftovers in the fridge, so I’ll enjoy a warm bowl of soup today!
Today I’m thankful for the mentors in my life. The first and best would be my maternal grandmother. She taught me better than anyone how to appreciate the life I have. I also had a few people on the jobs I had that patiently and kindly taught me what I need to know about doing my work successfully. These terrific mentors were very important and appreciated in my life.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
Joy ia not cash but for sure joy is a superb Cyber Monday when the best of discounts and offers are going to rain.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
10,833. for the ability to shop on line
10,834. for kind mentors in my life
10,835. for the tasty leftovers in the fridge
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You may have heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. There’s another day you might want to know about: Giving Tuesday. The idea is pretty straightforward. On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, shoppers take a break from their gift buying and donate what they can to charity.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I've been a huge fan of online shopping for years but will give the UPS driver a break this year. Good for you, finding a pair of shoes you love and sticking with them! Thankfully, there's little in the way of bargains I need right now.
Doesn't this weather lend itself to good soup? I'm going to show this one to Tom ... minus the peas, of course. (*grin*)
Sorry I missed the last few blogs I was in Ohio.
I did not know Cyber Monday started in 2005.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
