ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Iced Tea Day which celebrates one of summer’s favorite drinks. In the United States iced teak makes up a out 65% of all tea consumed and is a popular alternative to soft drinks, especially in the hotter southern states. We find it in restaurants, convenience store, vending machines and grocery stores. It may be made on the premises , or available in bottles and cans, and at self serve soda fountains. We often have a choice of swweewtwend or unsweetened.
Ice Tea’s popularity in the United States has even led to an addition to standard cutlery sets. The iced tea spoon is a teaspoon with a long handle, suitable for stirring sugar into glasses. In the summer iced tea is at its most popular and is a stereotype of the southeastern United States due to the popularity of sweet Iced tea in the region and that unsweetened tea is not available and or frowned upon . Iced Tea is assumed to mean sweetened iced teal by default.
Sweetened or unsweetened , flavored ver unflavored, celebrate today with a nice tall glass of your favorite Iced Tea.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life needs more sweet tea and sunshine.

I love iced tea and usually keep a pitcher on hand in the fridge all summer long. My favorite way to make it is to mix it with aranberry juice. I don’t have to sweeten it as the juice does that for me. I can even make it one glass at a time, since they now make tea K cups for the Kereig.coffee maker. One thing I really miss is an automatic ice cube maker. I have to make my own. It’s something I have to remember to do. Too often I’ve reached in the bin only to find it empty
Iced tea day happened to come at a perfect time here with the hot and steamy weather we’re experiencing I’ve only been going outside in the early morning or late evening. Even the sun porch is too hot to sit out on. I’ m just hoping that all the heavy usage of air conditioning doesn’t cause the electricity to go out. That has happened in the past and when it does we are miserable.
Keep cool everyone and avoid he heat of the day if possible. Remember to keep hydrated and keep safe.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If you are cold, tea will warm you.
If you are too heat, i will cool you.
If you are depressed, it will cheer you.
If you are excited, it will calm you.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.

Iced tea is refreshing on hot summer days. We got a new fridge last year which makes ice cubes. So handy and Winslow, the puppy, likes ice cubes as well!

Iced tea is refreshing, indeed! I like your idea of adding a little cranberry juice. Ya, about Southerners loving their sweet tea. I remember one time my mother and I were visiting when, after an afternoon at the mall she remarked, "I'm spitting cotton." (Code for "I need something cool to drink.") I pulled into two fast-food places but neither one had unsweetened tea.
I still have a couple ice cube trays that I use to sometimes freeze dark roast coffee, then put them in a glass of almond milk. Wish I'd remembered to get that milk when I went to Wal-Mart this morning. Oh well, I fear this is going to be a long HOT summer.
I think I read that iced tea was first served at the World's Fair in New Orleans. can't remmeber how many years ago! It was hot and an Englishman was selling tea, so he put ice in it! NOt sure if that's true but it makes sense! :-)
I love tea, hot or cold! xx
