ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is International Fairy Day which is a day for fairy believers young and old to celebrate the stories, magic and history of the Fair Folk. For centuries fairies have been an important part of Celtic culture. In all of the ancient legends these mythological creatures are described as intelligent, mischievous, and magical. They have the ability to fly and cast spells and they live in the land of eternal youth. Some say that humans can’t often see fairies because of the division between two worlds, but sightings can occur at twilight or during MidSummer’s Eve, or All Hallows Eve.
In his 1904 play Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie wrote than when the first baby laughed, that was the beginning of fairies. International Fairy Day is the perfect time to relive your childhood fantasies and celebrate the joy and magic of the fairy world. To celebrate today, read a classic Fairy Tale, build a fairy house, or take a stroll through the woods. You never know when you might stumble across something magical.
June is Great Outdoors Month and Pet Adoption Month This week is National Frozen Yogurt Week.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I believe in everything until it’s disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons, It all exists, even if its’s in your mind. Who’s to say that the dreams and nightmares aren’t so real as the here and now.
John Lennon
The pictures today are from our local garden center where they have a large variety of fairies. Lots of people like to decorate their flower beds and gardens with fairies and fairy houses; Turns out they have quite a good selection.
I like the idea of putting a little magic into our every day. We never know just what will happen. Mostly I do the best I can with what I’ve got but today’s definitely a day for magic bars
Magic Bars
1/2 . butter, melted
1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 14 oz. an sweetened condensed milk
2 . semisweet chocolate morsels
1 1/2 . flaked coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 13 by 9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine graham cracker crumbs with butter. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly with a fork.
Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into bars or diamonds. Store at room temperature.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
It’s frightfully difficult to know much about the fairies, and almost the only thing for certain is that there are fairies wherever there are children.
J.M. Barrie
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Put some magic into your day!
How cute with the fairies. Enjoyed reading about their history. Corgis are thought to be the dogs of the fairies because of their short legs! Have a magical day Ma!

That's really interesting about the origins of fairies. And Peter Pan is one of my all-time favorites. What's that Tinkerbell quote, "If you believe, clap your hands." I believe we all need a little more dreaming and clapping.
Enjoy those magic bars … yum!
