ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 6TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Gardening Exercise Day which is honors the fact that gardening is more than just a hobby, it includes exercise. Activities like digging, planting , reaping and cutting are gardening exercises. Doing one of these uses many different movements that nearly all kinds of muscles are activated and automatically trained. As a result a nice cozy garden surrounds the house and invites us to spend time outside.
This day calls attention to a healthy activity for people of all ages. A garden offers the opportunity to have vegetables and fruits and to have a place to create fresh air, it also provides small animals like birds and squirrels to have a nice place to live which is a good step to going green.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden.
Ruth Stout
I’m thankful for the fact that I still get outside and do my own yard work. It does provide some much needed exercise. It’s been hot and humid here so I haven’t done much outside, but the weekend is to be some cooler in the 70’s so my plan is to get it done then.
It’s hard to believe it’s Saturday already and time for me to cook again. I’ve decided to make a pasta salad the will make a meal for me.
Italian Pasta Salad
2 d. uncooked rotini pasta
3/4 c chopped green pepper
3/4 c chopped tomotoes
1/2 c. chopped pepperoni
1/2c. cubed hard salami
1 c. whole ripe olives, quartered
1 c. provoline or mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/3 c chopped onion
Italian salad dressing to taste
Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and rinse in cold water. Place in a large bowl, add the green pepper, tomatoes , pepperoni, salami, olives and cheese and onion.
Mix together with italian dressing and refrigerate until served.
You can also add other vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower , but the only thing I had on hand was cucumbers so I chopped some up and added that. I also have some nice garlic bread to have with it and it will definitely make a meal for me. When the summertime weather comes along, salads like this hit the spot.
The pictures today are of my yard, as you can see there is not a whole lot of it but enough to provide so exercise for me.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturiday!

Thankful for some exercise
Gardening and yard work are great exercise! They work a variety of muscles!
Yum on the pasta salad!
Betty
Yum on that pasta salad, for sure! I do enjoy experimenting with salads of all kind during the summer months. Lately, for instance, I've gotten into the green long-leaf lettuce. Um, and thanks for mention of cucumber. I need to run put that on my grocery list. Happy Saturday!
Love the pictures of your place, is very homey.
