ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, JUNE 8TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is World Oceans Day which celebrates the ocean and the important role it plays in our lives. 66% of the world is covered in a blanket of rich vibrant blue, from it’s depths once came all life on the Earth and it continues to house immense amount of life. This blanket is the world’s oceans and they serve as one of the most popular vacation spots in the world and play a vital role in the economy of countries worldwide.
Across the briny deep massive amounts of cargo cross each year and it serves as the primary thoroughfare for trade. It’s important to safeguard the oceans to help ensure a healthy home for all In 2008, the UN gathered and uniformly created World Oceans Day. This day was established with the intent of celebrating our connection to the sea and raising awareness about the various dangers it faces. There are nearly 200,000 identified species that live in the ocean, but the number of actual species that reside there is likely in the millions. There are problems with overfishing and the subsidies that are given for the fishing countries all around the world are causing the depletion of the game species. Plastic straws and bags are getting into the oceans and causing havoc. Today is an opportunity to recognize the efforts that have been made and are being made against plastic pollution.
Oceans play a major role in everyday life all around the globe. They provide a majority of the oxygen we breath, so many consider them to be the lungs of our planet. The goal is to develop a worldwide movement of citizens to care better for the oceans. They are a significant source of food and medicines and can’t be ignored or mistreated any longer.
To celebrate breathe deep and appreciate the beauty and serenity the ocean offers.
Happy Oceans Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
There’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.
Sarah Kay
The closest I’ve been to the ocean was in the Gulf when we visited Floria this past Christmas so today’s pictures are from there. It’s truly beautiful to look at and we all enjoyed our day at the beach. I took a lot of pictures so I could look back and remember how beautiful it was.
We also got to enjoy a lot of seafood too. It was delicious.
I could easily live by the ocean, it’s a beautiful place to be. I don’t think I’d ever tire of looking at the shoreline.
Research has shown that being near the ocean can make you calmer and more creative. When you sit near the ocean and gaze out at the water, you give your brain and senses a rest from over stimulation, get into a mindful state, and trigger insights an ideas that eluded you while you are sitting at your computer.
Ocean water can also inspire you to be more compassionate and connected. While in the restful, contemplated set associated with interacting with water, you are likely to experience feelings of awe, which can increase your capacity for connections and empathy.
Today is supposed not be a perfect day weatherwise in the mid 70’s but tomorrow we’re to have a heatwave with temps in the 90’a which is rare for us this time of year. So today I’m going to get out and about and enjoy this nice weather. Tomorrow I’ll be staying in and keeping cool. Thankfully I have central air conditioning and will be nice and comfortable. Remember that when the temps go up we should drink more water. Our community pool isn’t opening up at all so there’s no other way to keep cool on these hot days.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

Ocean breezes are very refreshing.
I did like living close to the ocean. Sunsets over it are great! I too like seafood, healthy for us too!
Stay as cool as you can Ma with those temps!

That's a super sunset photo! I agree, there's something awe-inspiring about watching the ocean. Even in tumultuous weather, it's power is humbling. Hope your son and family haven't been affected by Tropical Storm Cristobal!
We live about an hour away from the ocean, do not go more than twice a year. Why we don't go more often, I don't know. The ocean is all of which you described.
I love that quote about the ocean kissing the shoreline! I do so want to go to the beach! I have seen the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans and remember how magestic they are. And I loved sailing the pcean on our Alaskan cruise. But I will take a beanch - any beach right now!
Our pools are opening soon but you must make a reservation. Amber is THRILLED!!! She is a beach baby and she and the quads LOVE spending many a summer day at the pool!
I am SO glad you had that Florida trip before all the Covidness came about!
