ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, JUNE 1ST, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Welcome June
The month of June is Adopt a Cat month, African - American Music Appreciaton month, Audio book appreciation month,Beautiful in your Skin month, California Advocado month, Cataract Awareness month, Children’s Awareness month, Fireworks Safety month, Georgia Blueberry Month, Great Outdoors month, International Men’s month, Dairy month, Perennial Gardening month, National Camping month, Fruit and Veggies month, National Iced Tea month, National Oceans month, National Safety Month, National Smile Month, National Soul Food month, Oral Health month, Rebuild your life month, and Turkey Lovers month.
Today is Go Barefoot Day which is an opportunity to kick off your shoes. It’s the beginning of the summer season and join people across the country in the shoe free celebration.
National Go Barefoot Day was launched by a non profit organization called Soles4Souls. The real purpose behind this quirky holiday is to encourage people to donate new and used shoes to victims of natural disasters. Take a moment to do a little Spring cleaning and give away the shoes you no longer need. Many organize shoe drives.
Today enjoy a barefoot walk on the beach or treat yourself to a pedicure.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You learn a lot when you’re barefoot. The first thing is every step you take is different.

I don’t go barefoot much at all. My feet are old and I prefer to have flip flops or my crocks on when summertime comes. Although there are times I slip the shoes off and put my feet up so they can enjoy the summer breezes. It’s good to get a little air between you toes on a hot day Thankfully our temps are rebounding from our chilly weekend and today will be near perfect at 75 degrees and sunny. I’ll be making sure to get out and take a walk today. It won’t be too hot or too cold, but just right.
Our church opened its doors yesterday so this should be a great week. All is right in my world once more. All safe distance measures were put into place and masks were required. There was also plenty of hand santizer provided. Hopefully this is a sign of only good things to come.
I’m still working my way through sorting out the summer clothing, so this week is the week to get it all done. I’ve got piles here. there, and everywhere, so I need to get them put away. I won’t need to make any changes now til Fall comes our way. But my spring decor needs to be put away and summer put out. Time for something new to look at. Besides the house needs dusting and cleaning. I need to put the books away for awhile and get busy.
More than not, I’ve been reading the days away which is certainly better than watching all the scary news on TV. Please join me in praying for all those affected by the violence of the protests going on. May we come to a peaceful resolution.
Over half of the year has gone by now, hopefully the 2nd half will be much better and the worst is over. The pictures today are of the last trip to the beach on Lake Erie that I made. I try to get there at least once a year.
I hope you all have great start to the new week. Happy Monday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If I had my life to lifer over again, I’d run barefoot, relax a bit more, I’d talk more to children, and I’d learn how they laugh.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

The beach is always my favorite place to be.
Cute picture of you at the beach:) I do indeed join you in prayer about the protesting and riots. There is sure a lot of hate out there.
Beautiful
Glad your church reopened Ma!! Ours has not yet. Definitely praying for peace these days! I like going barefoot inside the house at times but I too like to wear flip flops or sandals more than being barefoot. Hard to believe June is here! May went pretty quickly.

Oh my gosh -- so many great causes for the month of June. I, for one, need to observe more than a few. How wonderful that your church reopened! Our sanctuary is quite small, so I don't know Pastor and/or the Bishop have even discussed a date. Smiling about barefoot day, on account this morning is the first time in a week I've donned socks and tennis shoes! I do believe going barefoot so much these last two years (post retirement) has made my feet wider. Soooo glad I no longer have to worry about putting on those patent high heels!
