ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Tie One On Day which is a day to tie on your apron and get busy cooking for Thanksgiving. It’s a day when people are encouraged to wrap a baked good in an apron and attach a note and then deliver their offering to a neighbor a friend or to an organization in their community.
You could also find an apron to sew or buy, create a home made card and then you’re all set.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives
John F. Kennedy
Aprons seem to be a thing of the past, but I do still own a few. When things get messy in the kitchen they save your clothing from getting spattered and dirty.
My grandmother always wore an apron and hers usually had big pockets too. She’d put it on every morning and take it off before she went to bed. It used to be that washing clothes wasn’t as easy as it is now, so people would keep try to keep their clothes clean to wear again. They didn’t put a clean outfit on every day. But wear them more than once and and apron helped.
Her apron did a lot of things. When she went to the garden she’d use it like a basket to gather vegetables in. It even tried a tear or two as she’d wipe some eyes dry with the corner. I remember how she had everything she needed in the pockets to get her through the day. To this day I love an apron with pockets.
I would love to have an apron to give to all the women in my life that do so much for their families. I think I’ll make that my goal for next year. We’ll see…
Today’s pictures are from the year we made gingerbread houses and I gave everybody an apron to wear. I didn’t make them, but bought them at the craft store.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU!

Tie on your apron and make something to give away today!
How cute with those gingerbread aprons, Ma! My MIL used to wear aprons all the time for cooking. Its a habit I never got into, but I can see how an apron can have more than 1 use with the way your grandmother used hers!

Now I'm going to go look to see if I can't find my mother's old apron! Not only did she always wear one in the kitchen ... but insisted I do, too. I think the ones she sewed (with pockets) she called 'cobbler' aprons.
My g-mothers always wore an apron. I can't picture them without one.
