ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Go For a Ride Day which is a day to get out into the world and take a ride, for example with your bike, your car or your shoes. You don’t need a destination - you don’t need a destination - just follow your nose. For motor bikers it could be the last chance for a tour before winter season.
Everyone can find his own individual way to take part in Go For a Ride Day, the vehicle itself does not play a major role. You might want to try fance one like a sleigh, a horse, a helicopter or a skate board. Go through nature or take a city trip. It also doesn’t matter if you go with friends or on your own. The journey itself is all that matters on Go For a Ride Day.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature it is a time of sowing of scattering abroad.

I won’t be going for ride today because tomorrow is our Family Thanksgiving. Today I’ll be in the kitchen making up some salads to take along to share. Tomorrow DS#5 and family have volunteered to take me with them and give me a ride to our Thanksgiving gathering. It will be a good day for a ride as the roads will be clear and there is still some remaining color in the trees to make the landscape enjoyable. We travel on the hig highway where we see a lot of farmland and it is pretty bleak this time of year, Nothing growing in November at all.
Each of us will take something to share for the feast and I’m taking Mac Salad and Waldorf Salad. I’ll be doing a lot of chopping it up and not traveling today. No doubt I’ll also have Christmas music playing on the radio and singing Jingle Jingle All the Way. Sometimes the best part of any holiday is the preparation.
I’ll be praying for safe travels for all those gathering for the holidays. May the Lord surround them with his loving care and protect them from every danger and bring them safely to their journey’s end
Here is the recipe for Waldorf Salad, I’ve already shared how I make macaroni salad. And lest I forget I’m also taking the cranberry sauce, but it won’t take much work. I’m using the kind from a can. Easy Peasy.
Waldorf Salad
Serves 4 so I’ll be making more than this.
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced, pealed apples
l/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup seedless red grapes, halved
1/2 to 3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup miniature marshmallows
Mix all ingredients together and chilll overnight before serving.
Today’s pictures are from last years get together, which was at DD’s house.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7618. for food to share
7619. for a family gathering
7620. for Christmas music on the radio
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We gather to gather to ask the Lord’s blessing
He chastens and hastens his will to make known,
The wicked opressing now cease from distressing.,
Sing praises to his name; he forgets not his own

Those pictures tell it all: you have a lot to be thankful for. I’m thankful for having a blog friend who looks on the bright side.
Have a wonderful early Thanksgiving feast. Being with family makes every day special.
What a beautiful bounty!
How my mother loved her Waldorf salad; that was always a staple on her holiday table.
Wishing you safe travels and loads of giggles tomorrow!
