ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Hug a Bear Day, which is a day to give a big hug to your favorite teddy bear. The ancient Egyptians are credited with making the first plush toys. Modern stuffed animals were first introduced in the 1830’s but they were homemade with cloth and straw. In 1880, Germany began manufacturing stuffed animals that closer resembled the cute toys we still purchase today.
Stuffed animals were not popular in the US until 1906 when President Theodore Roosevelt inspired the production of the first Teddy Bear.
To celebrate today, snuggle up with your favoirite Teddy Bear or purchase a new cuddly bear. You can even give out extra bear hugs to your friends and family. Happy Hug a Bear Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A hug is like a boomerang - you get it back right away.
Bill Keane
The only bear I have left here at my house is the one pictured above. He is part of my fall decorations and I put him out every year to enjoy. He’s on the small side and not very huggable, but he is cute.
I do love to get and give hugs. But don’t get them on a daily basis since I live by myself but when the family gets together I try my best to catch up on the ones I’ve missed. Today’s pictures are from our family get together this past summer.
Today we’re supposed to have rain mixed with snow coming our way. It’s to be much colder too. We were in the 50’s yesterday so I took advantage of the good weather to get out and do some grocery shopping. Today I’ll be staying in and keeping warm.
Today’s dinner will be leftover Taco Tuesday casserole which turned out quite well. I was out of whole kernel corn so I used some creamed corn instead and that worked out just fine. This recipe is a keeper and I’ll making it again. I’ll be putting the rest in the freezer for another day.
I hope you all have a GREAT day! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
I have learned that there is more power in a good strong hug than in a thousand meaningful words.

(((HUGS))) to all of You!
Sending you back a hug, Ma! All great pictures of you and your family! Glad to hear the taco casserole was a hit. I'll be looking to make it soon since it is cool enough now to use the oven. We still have a few bears/stuffed animals around from when the kids were growing up. I'll make sure I give one of them a hug today :)
