ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is when the US, Canada and Mexica’s northern border cities will end Daylight Savings Time at 2 a.m. local time on November 3rd, 2019. The clocks fall back an hour to normal time, meaning brighter mornings but darker evenings for most Americans.
Daylight Saving Time also known to some as summer time, is the practice of advancing clocks so the evenings have more daylight and mornings less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of Spring and are adjusted backward in autumn.
The modern idea of daylight saving was first implemented during the First World War. Many countries have used it at various times since then. It has been both praised and criticized. Adding daylight to evenings benefits retailing, sports and other activations that exploit sunlight after working hours, but can make problems for evening entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun.
Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity, modern heating and cooling usage patterns differ greatly and research about how DST currently effects energy us is limited or contradictory.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.
Dave Barry
I will be celebrating today as I finally get the hour of sleep back that I lost last spring. I don’t care for DST and wish we stayed the same time all year long. It always upsets my apple cart and it takes awhile to adjust to it.
One wouldn’t usually think that one hour could make such a difference, but it does and even getting back to normal will take some getting used to.
This cold spell we’re having is taking some getting used to too. Our temps are ranging from mid 40’s as a high to lower 50’s and night temps are much colder in the 30’s. It’ looking like winter hats are coats will coming out of the closet to stay a while. I’ve got lots of leaves to be cleared the yard but on the bright side , I won’t be breaking a sweat to do it.
Colds and such have been going around here and It’s time to remember to get your flu shot. I got mine a couple of weeks ago, but now that November is here it is also time to get the 2nd part of my Pneumonia shot. I got the first round November 1st. last fall.
It’s also time to check your smoke alarms to make sure the batteries are working. The maintenance men here in my community came in and did that for me this past week. Don’t forget to check, it’s better safe than sorry.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday! Time to snuggle up and read a good book or watch a movie.
Last year this time we had our 1st snow

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

One hour of sleep doesn't make a difference. So glad I got it back!
I meant it DOES make a difference. opps.
Thanks for the reminder to change batteries in our smoke alarm! I'm supposed to see my doc tomorrow and will ask about getting both of these shots. Already 3 of my co-workers have been sidelined by the 'crud' whatever bug's going around. Since I have to drive directly into the rising sun several times each week, I'm hoping next week will bring relief. Of course, it's gonna get even with me, time to drive home. LOL!
Springing forward always messes me up. My students were off as well. In fact, both time changes my system. But, I'll get over it.
Since we don't change the time in Arizona, no adjustments needed here which I'm glad about! Got my flu shot a few weeks back and heard that the wee one got his last Friday. Now got to get everyone else to get their's. Certainly don't want the flu around here! Hubby heard that it might be a bad flu season. I have to get my shingles shot and some other shot (can't remember it now before I lose my health insurance by the end of the month).
