ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Small Business Saturday which was founded by American Express in 2010. This day encourages consumers to shop local and support small businesses in their community.
Small Business Saturday was igniated in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis as a way to positively impact business and neighborhoods. Small businesses face tough financial challenges, and this day serves as a reminder to support entrepreneurs today and every day.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is Christmas eveytme you let God love others through you…yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand.
Mother Teresa
Many big chain stores have replaced the small locally owned stores of yesteryear. General Dollar is like the small stores that used to be on the corner. Where you could go to pick up a loaf of bread or milk between the main weekly trips to the grocery store. Big chains have taken over no matter where you go. I see the same ones in most places I go.
The only way small businesses can succeed is if we shop at them. So supporting them is important.
Today I’m getting ready for Advent which starts tomorrow. I’ve got my wreath set out on the table with candles ready to light. Advent is the 4 weeks before Christmas. It’s a season of waiting and hope as we prepare for Chistmas. Counting down the weeks until Christmas is especially meaningful to me this year as the day after Christmas I’m leaving for a family Christmas at DS#4’s house. He volunteered to host our family for Christmas this year and we’ll all be traveling to get together. It’ll be the whole family in one place. I’m very excited as are all my family. It’s been a long time since we were all together in one place for Christmas. It’s usually the 5 that live in Oho that get together for any holiday, but this year we are leaving Ohio and traveling south for Christmas. Everyone, even those far away will get together.
I’m very thankful that they all like being together and enjoy each other’s company. Not eery family does that. It’s no small matter for everyone to make the effort to do so either. This time we’ll be together is truly an effort of love for all.
I have always said that all I want for Christmas is for my family all together in one place and this year my wish is coming true. Miracle of Miracles! These kids of mine know how to make their mom happy for sure.
DDIL#4 has planned activities to enjoy each day we are there and it’ll all culminate with our family Christmas being observed on New Years Eve this year. I’ve been told that only 3 will be missing and that would be 3 of DS#2’s children who have other plans and cannot make it. We’ll miss them but I’m very happy to say all of my children will be there .
The countdown is on ! 4 weeks until Christmas!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
My idea of Christmas, whether Old fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that.
Bob Hope
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.

I am so thrilled for you! The entire family! You are going to float on air the entire month of December! And how cool to do Christmas on NY Eve? You son is amazing to plan and host all this! I think we are unusual in our family in that we all live in Texas except for a sister in Alabama. She has joined us a time or two.
I’m still plugging away at cleaning and decorating. And I’m still in purge mode. I gave Summer most all of my snowman collection and I have a big tub of debris to take to Goodwill. Returning it from whence it came! Today I’m in the kitchen. That’s a big job. I have so many coffee mugs you wouldn’t believe so today I’m loading up all the ones that mean something to me and taking the rest to Goodwill. Tonight we are going to Amber’s for a get together since we didn’t see each other on Thanksgiving. Then tomorrow we are going to switch vehicles after church and bring the quads home with us to eat lunch and spend the afternoon. The sewing room is a wreck but I’m just going to do the best I can. Kids don’t care, I think. It’s a warm day here....nearly 70 so I have the doors open to the patios.
Would you believe I still need to finish two Christmas paintings? One is the one Ginny won. At least I just have to glaze it. The other is for Fort Worth Christmas tree and I have some serious painting to do on that one!
I’ve missed my visits here with you lately. Life gets too busy for me sometimes.
God speed on getting done everything you purpose to do today!
Can you hear me squealing over here? What a precious gift you've been given!!! Yes, you're sure blessed that all your 'babes' enjoy one another. Sad, Tom only has 2; and despite the fact they both live in Phoenix, I doubt they've seen or spoken to one another in a couple years. HAPPY Saturday!
Oh Ma, I know you are super excited and I'm excited for you too! How neat that all your kids will be together! That's a very great enormous gift for sure! I bet you'll have fun planning on what you will be taking for your time there, etc. Looking forward to hearing all the preparations and then looking forward to your trip with what you want to share about it when you return!
We did go out to lunch today and we elected to go to a local family run restaurant rather than a chain one in honor of small business Saturday.
betty
How exciting that you all will be together. Love the snowman in the pool:)
