ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Veterans Day which is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. It’s a federal holiday usually observed on November 11th However if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for the holiday.
It is also celebrated as Amistice Day or Remberance Day .November 11 is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended WWI. Hostilities were formally ended the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.
Pesident Willson proclaimed the first Armistice Day in 1919 and President Eisenhower changed the name to Veterans Day in 1954. Similar celebrations take place all across the world.
There are now over 21 million veterans living in the United Sates. Today we honor all those men and women for their patriotism, and their willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good our our country.
On the eleventh day of the eleventh month
We pause at the eleventh hour
Some of stop to pray
For soldiers who died or went missing along the way.
C. Lynch
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginnings of all wars.
Franklin Roosevelt
I have my own special veterans that I’ll be honoring today. DS#2 and his wife, who proudly served their country for over 20 years and are now retired military. Their picture is shown in today’s post.. It’s due to them that I know personally about the sacrifices made, that we are rarely aware of. They are very special to me and they deserve the honor and praise due to veterans today. THANK YOU for both for your service.
There never was a good war or a bad peace.
Benjamin Franklin
Please join me in praying for peace on earth today and every day. I believe that prayers are answered and pray works. When things seem impossible it’s better to hand them over to the One that takes cake of them better than I can. God can do the impossible.
We have a winter weather alert today for snow. We could get 3 to 7 inches from 4pm to 7 am tomorrow. I hope it will be only 3 inches not the 7 inches. Usually it is the folks east of us that get more. Any way we are advised to slow down and be careful on the roads. Take good care everyone.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week! Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Whenever and wherever the nation has called, in times of darkness and danger as well as in time of peace and prosperity, American veterans have been there. Veterans have proudly carried the torch of Liberty for all to see.
Gen. Colin L. Powell
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7585. for all our veterans, especially DS#2 and his wife
7586. for land of the free, because of the brave
7587. for peace, always good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

Thank You to all our vets!
I know you're proud of all your children, Ma. But I'm guessing there's a special pride knowing these two have served our Country so admirably. What a beautiful complexion, your DIL!

So many men and women to be thankful for. Know you are beaming and yes, prayer is the most important thing we can do, our doing is small but his doing is great!
