ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Name Your Car Day. Every car has character and personality. We spend a lot of time our our cars and caring for them. So, it is only fitting that each car gets it’s own name.
What you name your car should be a reflection of it’s character and performance. In general guy’s names are for guy’s cars, and girl names are for cars that ladies drive.
Today is also Guardian Angel Day.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Everything in life is somewhere else, and you get there in a car.

I really don’t know why, but every car I’ve owned, has had a name. The one I have right now is called the Little Red Hen. She’s red, small and sit’s close to the ground and reminds me of a hen scurrying about. Ha !
My car is not new, but still runs and I’m thankful for it. Cars give us the freedom to go where we want to and when we want without having to wait for others to give us a ride. The only down side to having your own car is that they do cost money. Even though my car is paid for, I’ve put some money into upkeep and maintenance over the years.
I do depend on others at times for a ride when it comes to traveling very far. I don’t do long trips by my self anymore, and I’m thankful for their help. I’m also grateful that my home has a carport where I can keep my car so it’s sheltered from the weather. That’s very helpful especially in the winter when the snow and ice cover everything.
Today’s holiday tip: Buy Thanksgiving Treats Now. If you are planning to make a batch of Thanksgiving Blessing Mix this year, stock up on Autumn themed chocolate kisses, candy corn or gift bags now, they may not be available when you need them next month.
Recipe for Thanksgiving Blessing Mix

Blessing Mix Poem
Bugles: shaped like a cornucopia or Horn of Plenty, a symbol of our nation’s abundance.
Pretzels: Arms folded in prayer, a freedom sought by those who founded our country.
Candy corn: Sacrifice of the Pilgrims first winter, settlers survived on a few kernels of corn a day.
Nuts or seeds: Promise of a future harvest, reaped only if seeds are tended with diligence.
Dried fruits: Harvest gifts of our bountiful land.
M&Ms: Memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future.
Hershey’s Kiss: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
After a pleasant Monday here at my house I think there is a chance of rain here today, but the temps remain in the mid 70’s. I got out in the country again yesterday to the Farm Market. Today is my day to do some planning and make lists of what I need to do before time drifts by and I find myself wondering where it went to.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is like a car ride…Sometimes it’s cruise control down smooth highways. Other times, it’s potholes on rural roads.
Carolyn Mackler
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6392. for my car that gets me where I need to go
6393. for family that sometimes gives me a ride
6394. for fall treats like nuts and candy corn
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Tuesdays are TERRIFIC!
We have had names for our cars in the past, but now we just refer to them as the Versa and the Rogue. Maybe down the road we'll give them nicknames. I like the name of your car :)
We are getting lots of rain from tropical storm Rosa. Lots of flooded streets!

Years ago when I got my Vette I named it after an Italian ship captain I fancied: "Cesare." (Pronounced Ches-ah-RAY) Unfortunately - like the captain - it proved to be fickle. All that glitters is not gold.
My Camry's a vintage 2005, and darn. All this time she's been sturdy and reliable - but lacking a name. What do you suggest?
