ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Dessert Day which is a rich day filled with yummy treats. It’s a day to forget about calories and then you can go back to your diet.
You can make your own desserts, buy them at the store, or go out to a restaurant and enjoy a dessert or two. It’s a day to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Have a happy National Dessert Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Once in a young lifetime one should be allowed to have as much sweetness as one can possibly want and hold.
Judith Olney
I do have a sweet tooth and almost always have some kind of a dessert on hand here at my house. Right now I still have a couple of pieces of leftover apple pie in the fridge. But sometimes it is something simple like a dish of ice cream.
One of the best desserts I’d ever had was a loaded chocolate brownie that was topped with ice cream, whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup, when my sister, BIL, and I went out to celebrate our birthdays this past spring. That is what the pictures are of today. It was so… good and we ate every delicious bite!
I found an easy pumpkin dessert to share today. It’s pumpkin month and since I don’t usually make pumpkin pies until November. This one sounds like a keeper.
Easy Pumpkin Dessert
1 15 oz. can pumpkin
3 eggs
4 tsp. pumpkin spice
1 12 oz can evaporated milk
1 c. sugar
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. walnuts, chopped
Mix together pumpkin, eggs, spice, milk and sugar and pour into a greased 9 by 13 pan.
Sprinkle dry cake mix on top
Pour melted butter over the top and then sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes until set. Serve with ice cream or cool whip.
I haven’t tried this yet, but it does sound easy.
Today’s holiday tip: Clear out the coat closet and add extra hangers to make space for guests.
Thankfully, I do have a coat rack that sits in the corner for guests to hang coats and hats. I even have an umbrella holder for when it rains.
It’s looking like a party cloudy here with temps the low 60’s. I guess I best find a light jacket or sweater to wear when I go out to church later this morning. That’s something I haven’t had to do in a long time.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Life is a piece of cake, savor every bite !
That dessert looks so delicious! I too have a sweet tooth. I like when son has the opportunity to go to dinner with us. He gets dessert and I can have a bite (or two) of it :)

Love that last shot of your BIL licking his finger. Not unlike a little boy. Aren't we all little kids when it comes to dessert?
I try not to keep many sweets around because I've zero portion control.
Nevertheless, I'm definitely making that pumpkin cake at our next holiday gathering. Different and easy, for sure.
