ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Bosses Day which is an opportunity to show your bosses the appreciation they truly deserve. Sometimes we just don’t think enough about our bosses or what they go through to keep us working make sure our wages get paid.
While they may be in a position of greater power, they also have greater responsibility. It’s not all roses at the top, so be sure to thank your bosses for all they do!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
By working faithfully eight hours a day you may eventually get to be boss and work twelve hours a day.
Robert Frost
Now I’m retired, I no longer have a boss. I’m my own boss and keeping myself on track is no easy thing. I still get paid due to the fact that I used to work and am now living on retirement income. So today I’m thankful for all the bosses I ever had because they gave me a job at one time. Not every boss of mine was a good one, but for the most part I did appreciate what they did. I wouldn’t have had a job without them.
Today’s holiday tip: Check the linen closet.
Time to check your stock of sheets, towels, blankets and pillows with an eye to holiday needs. If new or replacement items are needed add them to the seasonal shopping list. Look out for sales. Buying things on sale saves a lot. No since in paying full price.
Thankfully I do have plenty of what it would take to have holiday guests here. The linen closet is well stocked. I rarely have overnight guests, but am prepared, should they come.
It is definitely blanket weather here. Our nights have been chilly ones and daytime highs remain in the 50’s so sweaters and jackets are a must too. We’ve had all the hot days we’re going to get and I’m preparing for winter. They say there may be frost on the pumpkin this week!
I hope you all have TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The privilege to work is a gift. The power to work is a blessing. The love of work is success.
David O. McKay
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6433. for bosses who gave me a job
6434. for plenty of linens in case of guests
6435. for retirement, a reward for years of hard work
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
No matter who is watching or paying the paycheck, we are ultimately each own own boss.
Kristin Armstrong
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I woke up to only 35 degrees here this morning. Brrr...
I try to never ever buy anything but perishables at full price. Mother is in a nursing home and has thrown most of her linens away.....towels, washcloths, hand towels, bedding.....
I went to the thrift store last week and stocked up without spending a fortune! I bought black bath towels that looked brand new and found white and black and white hand towels to match! Today I’m going to look for bed linens. I know the home has a chore keeping up with the laundry and things go missing often.
I thought about you last night when I was looking around my bathroom. I read you were giving yours a real good cleaning yesterday. Well, I looked with fresh eyes at my and was amazed at the spider webs and layers of dust I found! Guess what I’m doing this morning even before I get dressed??
I just put the blanket on the bed today, LOL. Usually for the spring and summer its just sheets. Hubby just started sleeping under the sheet. We're having a cool day today but high 80s by the end of the week. I wouldn't want to be a boss or a supervisor. I like to just go in and do my work and be responsible for me. I wouldn't want that added on responsibility.
betty
No truer words, MA, than the quote about being promoted & having to work more hours! I love the picture of your home... so nice & cozy!! Lovingly, Andrea xoxo
Thank you for the reminder about Boss' Day! Just because I had a 'stinker' for the last 15 years, doesn't overshadow two amazing individuals who are still a part of my life. A little bit ago I was able to go out on Facebook and thank them, not only for giving me a job, but helping craft so many great memories.
