ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National It’s My Party Day which is the perfect day to celebrate whatever you want.
Whether you keep your party small and simple or big and bold, it’s a day to celebrate with as much fun and enthusiasm that you can muster.
It’s a good day to turn on some music and dance! Life is to short. So let’s party!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came-
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
George Cooper
Every day is one to celebrate. We can be thankful for the gift of each day. Every day may not be a good one, but there is something good in every day when you take the time to look for it. I call it looking on the Bright Side.
My party today may include some Pumpkin Spice donuts. I picked them up yesterday at our local gas station, which happens to be the closest place I can buy Krispie Kreme Donuts. Putting some music on and dancing isn’t a bad idea either. The leaves are beginning to fall here and have been doing a dance as they fall to the ground. Ha !
I spent a good part of yesterday base coating snowflakes which will be gifts for my grandchildren. The general theme is: Grandchildren are like snowflakes. Each one is beautifully unique.
Today’s holiday tip: Your ceiling fan can help you stay warm in the winter.
Most ceiling fans include a reverse setting to draw cold air up and redistribute warm air downward around the edges of the room in cold weather. You’ll want the fan’s blades to run counter-clockwise for cooling, but in the winter blades should move clockwise to draw cold air upward. It might be a good time to give them a good dusting too.
Our temps are dropping down into the 60’s today and into the 50’s. After having the air conditioning running for a couple of days now, this is a nice break, but sadly with the cold night time temps, lower 40’s, I may have to turn the furnace on. It’s hard to find days where neither are needed this time of year. I’m spoiled and thanks to central air and heating it’s easy to keep comfortable here no matter the weather.
Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another.

COUNTING MY GIFTS
Everything in the universe has rhythm. Everything dances.
Maya Angelou
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6419. for a reason to celebrate every day
6420. for the leaves which gave me plenty of shade on hot days
6421. for pumpkin spice, it makes for delicious donuts
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we’re here we should dance.

I hope you dance!
I love your pretty party poem! Clever idea about the snowflakes! I guess it’s time to start thinking about Christmas gifts. I’ll be taking my art to the ranch next week so I can finish up some Santa’s. It’s a good thing we don’t have a Krispy Kreme donut place close to us! Louis Dean dearly loves donuts!
How cute with the snowflakes! I like decorating with them. I'm sure your grandchildren will love them! Yum on the donuts!
betty
Hmmm donuts. Your prayers are so beautiful, so meaningful.
We were just talking about Krispy Kreme at yesterday's luncheon!
Your snowflakes sound like a great idea, Pam. Won't you show us more pictures of the process? Now that I'm no longer working I've been pondering the idea of doing something 'crafty' … but have no idea what. (Mind you, I'm the most Unartistic soul on the planet.) If you've any tips to get started, I'd love to hear them!
On Monday & Tuesday of this week the outside temperature here in northwest Indiana was in the mid-80s, so I had on our air-conditioning. Wednesday was in the 70s and I think the a/c came on once or twice. Today it was in the upper 40s and by 4pm it was downright COLD in the house so I flipped on the furnace for the first time since early spring. Now tonight we have a frost warning, with the temperature predicted to get down to 37 degrees around 3am. I'm grateful for our a/c and furnace too but I swear I heard the cha-ching of my utility bill when I had to flip on that furnace this afternoon. :-/ Oh well... I'm grateful for it all the same. *lol* Love, Andrea xoxo
Mmmm Pumpkin Spice Crispy Cremes. What a wonderfully tasty item to party with! Love the snowflake idea. You are a wonderful source of inspiration Pam! we have had to turn the heat on a few times this week. This morning as I look out it is grey and dismal and raining. Thankfully it did not rain on the Royal Wedding yesterday, but it sure was windy with lots of the women really having to hold down their pretty hats! I love all that you share Pam! You are a wonderful inspiration to us all! xoxo
I love the snowflakes. And all your craft ideas. ❄
