ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Frappe Day which is a chilled foam covered coffee drink that originated in Greece in the 1950’s Today there are many different variations of this refreshing beverage.
In the United States, Frappes are usually made with coffee, milk, ice, vanilla ice cream and sugar combined in a blender. In other parts of the world fruit frappes are popular.
Some people pronounce it ‘ frap', while others say ‘frahpay', but everyone can agree on the satisfying taste of this cool, creamy coffee treat. Make your own frappe today to celebrate !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Oh how we love pumpkin season. You did know this gourd-isa squash has it’s own season, right? We anxiously anticipate it every year.
Trader Joe’s, Fearless Flyer, October 2010
With the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been having, it’s a good time to enjoy something cool and refreshing. It won’t be long though and then we will be wanting something warm. Since it is Pumpkin Season I looked for and found a recipe for a Pumpkin Spice frappe to share today.
Pumpkin Spice Frappe
Makes 2 servings
1 c. black coffee
1/2 c. pumpkin spice creamer
1/8 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 c. crushed ice
Whipped cream for topping
Combine the coffee, creamer and pumpkin pie spice in a blender.
Add ice, and blend until smooth
Pour in a cup and top with whipped cream.
I like to drizzle a little chocolate syrup over that and sprinkle with cinnamon for a festive look.
Today’s holiday tip: Simplify Autumn decorating
Think simplicity when it’s time to decorate. Pumpkins, not Jack O Lanterns, can multitask though all the Autumn months. That’s what I’ve done this year and it’s true they’ll look great from now until Thanksgiving.
I got the small pumpkin shown in the first picture today at the farm market last week. It’s called a Pie Pumpkin. Pumpkins tend to keep well far a long time unless they get too warm. It’ll be decorating my table for a few weeks and then will be cooked up and made into a pie. Maybe even more than one! Hopefully I’ll also be roasting the seeds to enjoy too.
And don’t forget the other orange item shown in the first picture too. Oranges ! Time to load up on the vitamin C for the season of flu and colds too. They are alreading starting to go around.
I’ve shown some of my pumpkin decorations before but today I’m showing them again. It is pumpkin season after all.
I’m off to church as usual for me on a Sunday morning and afterward home for a peaceful afternoon. Chances are that I will have an afternoon nap too!
I hope you all have a RELAING Sunday!

Sundays are a day to celebrate, refresh and renew! Enjoy!
Our temps are due to drop in the 70's next week, so I may just adopt a pumpkin! That frappe recipe sounds really good. I love iced coffee and 'dolling' it up at home with ordinary ingredients. (Something about paying those absurd prices at Starbucks annoys the heck out-a me.)
Pumpkins are always great to decorate with. They do last a long time if you don't carve them and like you said can be used for all fall type decorations!
betty
I always love all your decorations. 🎃
