ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Comic Book which is a day to honor the creative and inventive books that have been entertaining children and adults alike for moore than 200 years.
Comic books reached massive popularity in the late 1930s and by the mid 1940’s were outselling traditional books. Thousands of comic book characters have been developed over the years, many of with have inspired numerous television shows and movies.
Comic books are great reading. They either tell an ongoing story, provide hummer, or offer intrigue and suspense. In all comic books, good eventually prevails over evil. So, comic books always make us feel good.
To celebrate this day, take a few minutes to catch up on your favorite comic or watch a movie based on your favorite series.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Laughter is the brush that sweeps away the cobwebs of the heart.
Mort Walker
The only comics I read these days are the ones found in the Sunday papers. I’ve read some of them for as long as I can remember. They always good for a smile or two and often makes us think too. Today’s pictures are from a few comic strips in our paper.
I don’t always get the paper and I have a friend that will cut out a good one and save it for me. She has brighten my day many times by her thoughtfulness.
Collecting comic books is a hobby for some and a few of my boys have collected comic books and saved them over the years too. I’m more of a traditional book reader and have quite a collection of my favorites, although most of what I read in now on my kindle.
Yesterday was a good day and I’m hoping today is another one. I made a dent in the house work anyway, so I’m hoping that today I’ll have more time to spend in the craft nook, aka Santa’s Workshop.
Today’s Holiday Tip: To make quick work of cleaning chores stand your ground. Avoid back and forth patterns which cut into cleaning time. Circle each room only once, cleaning everything in your path. Use a cleaning basket or apron to hold tools you need to clean all surfaces in front of you.
A seasonal spruce up is a necessary part of any part of any holiday . When I put out my seasonal decorations and put a clean tablecloth on the table or scarfs on the buffet or coffee table, I also take the time to polish up the wood. Other times I just dust things off with the swifter, but now and then we need to do some polishing up too. Lemon oil is one of my very favorite things to use. It make things shine and smells good too.
It’s to be a rainy day, but a little warmer with temps in the mid 70’s. A good day to stay in. No matter what the weather there is always plenty to do.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

A smile is a curve that sets everything straight! :.)
I used to enjoy when we got the paper keeping up with some of my favorite comics. They were sometimes the first thing I would read in the paper.

I vaguely recall my first comic book -- while waiting with my mother at Union Station, a soldier gave me his. My favorites became Dagwood, Beetle Bailey and Hi & Lois (Trixie). Oh, and Archie & Jughead, Betty & Veronica.
That's pretty cool about yours sons having the foresight to save their comic books. My former husband used to wrap all his Christmas presents using the Sunday funnies.
When I was a kid, my cousin used to hide her comic books from me when I visited her, because she knew I would only read those comic books and not play with her! (Archie Comics, with Betty and Veronica!) My parents would never buy them for me, so they were a treat!
Still miss the Peanuts comic strip, it was just so good. xx
I have always loved comic books. Not the super a hero kind, but the other ones like Little Audrey and Archie. I used to love the ads at the back where you could send away for treasures like sea monkeys. I used to wish I could get me some of those! Thanks for jogging my memory! Xoxo
