ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Mayflower Day which celebrates the date the Mayflower sailed from Plymouth, England to America. On September 16, 1620, 102 men, women and children set sail to the New World, where they could have religious freedom and continue using their native language, culture and customs. The voyage took 66 days. They landed at Plymouth Rock on December 21, 1621.
Today we commemorate these brave, early settlers. They were the very first immigrants and helped to pave the way for millions more to follow, in search of freedom and the dreams and promises of the New World.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it take from you.

Having lived most of my life in one place, I cannot imagine the courage it must have taken for the people on the Mayflower to travel to an unknown land.
Yet, many settlers in our country ventured here from different homes and countries. We have a huge mix of many religions, languages, cultures, and customs.
One thing we all have in common, though, and that is our freedom. I’m very thankful that I can live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
We are supposed to have a pleasant day here in northern Ohio, but they say that rain will be moving in tonight and tomorrow. The week ahead is to be in the mid to upper 70’s but by next weekend we’ll be dropping into the 60’s. As the days grow shorter, it is time enjoy the sunshine while we have it!
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
PRAYER REQUEST
A friend has asked for our prayers. Please. May the good Lord bless her with what is needed at this time. We pray all things in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The price of freedom is responsibility, but it is a bargain, because freedom is priceless.
Hugh Downs
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6344. for our brave early settlers
6345 for the freedoms we enjoy
6346. for a pleasant day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Opps! I forgot today is DDIL#4's birthday so tomorrow we'll be having a double birthday celebration. Not a great way to start the day, but I try to remember iI'm only human! Happy Sunday all !
Happy birthday to your DDIL#4! I'm sure the double birthday celebration tomorrow will be fun!
I'm not too adventurous so I'm not sure I would have made a good pioneer, but these days it is easier to keep in touch with loved ones when we move around compared to the "old" days when it was mainly letters that kept people in touch with one another.

Good morning! I’m back in the land of Internet!! I’ve missed you!
Saying a prayer for your friend.....
In retrospect, I don't know that I've have had the courage to board the Mayflower. Considering the early settlers trials, I wonder I wonder if we (as a society) haven't grown soft. I'm holding your friend in my prayers.
Thank you, yes. We're enjoying a relaxing Sunday. I hope yours was as well!
I’m recently discovered that several,of my ancestors were passengers on the Mayflower. Only two survived that first Winter I. Plymouth and they were married and had children, 10who all survived to have families of,their own. These two, people, Elizabeth Tilley and John Howland, have descendants of over two million in the world today! I was thrilled to,discover these amazingly brave individuals! It gives me an extra special reason to celebrate Thanksgiving this Year! Xoxo
