ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Cheeseburger Day, which is a day to fire up the grill or head to your favorite restaurant for a delicious Cheeseburger. It’s a day to top off Americans favorite sandwich with a piece of cheese. You can do so for lunch or dinner or both! Any kind of cheese will do.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is filled with seasons and this is a different season.
Tom Brokaw
I do love burgers made on the grill, but most of time mine are made in a frying pan on the stove. No matter, they are still really good.
I looked for and found a new recipe for today’s celebration because I wanted something special and this is what I found. It’s a recipe to make your own Roman Burger, which is a popular sub sold by Mr. Hero here in Ohio, it is like a glorified Cheeseburger.
Cheeseburger Sub
1 Italian hoagie bun
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. Mayonaise
1/4 c. shredded lettuce
2 slices tomato
3 slices white onion
1 tbsp. zesty Italian dressing
1 1/4 lb. hamburger patties
2 slices Provolone cheese
2 slices hard salami
Split hoagie sub, spread butter on one side and place on grill for toasting. After toasting spread mayo on both sides of sub. On the bottom layer lettuce tomato and onion. Drizzle with Italian dressing.
Grill burgers and add slices of cheese on each burger then place on the hoagie bun. Place salami on the grill for about 1 minute.. Flipping on both sides to cook evenly. Place salami on top of cheeseburgers.
This makes for a very special Cheeseburger today and any day for that matter.
It’s 98 days until Christmas and it’s time for me to make a Christmas planner. I’ve found that over the years it really is a big help and I hope to share with you what’s on my to do list as I count down the days until Christmas. It may sound far away, but the days will fly by and keeping a to do list makes a big difference.
We all know that this time of year gets very busy and if you take the time to set your goals for a day, a week, or a month, things will be a lot easier.
It’s time to schedule chimney inspections and clean out the fire place before the seasons first fire. It’s also time to get the furnace check up done before the first cold snap comes along. Here where I live they do a seasonal checkup and all I have to do is call to set up an appointment.
If I don’t write things down, chances are that I will forget about it. Sometimes I forget to look at my list and forget it anyway. Tuesdays are always my planning day for the week, a day to pay the bills and a day to get organized anyway. The ads are usually in the mailbox today for the grocery stores and I’ll make my list of what to get. Lest I forget...
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6350. for cheeseburgers, yum!
6351 for a calendar which helps keep me on track
6352. for lists, so I don’t forget
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Whatever you do, do it will all your might. Work at it, early and late, in season and out of season, not leaving a stone unturned and never deferring for a single hour that which can be done just as well as now.
P.T. Barnum
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

I usually start the Christmas countdown when it's 100 days until Christmas so I've missed a couple of days, but will try to catch up . There will be a few holidays before Christmas too and I hope to share a few tips for them too. The lazy days of summer are over and I have much to do.
Wow, Christmas will soon be upon us! That is scary! I need to start getting ready now! I look forward to your tips as we count down the days! Your recipe today looks and sounds delicious! Thanks so much for all you share Pam! I know I have said it before, but I will say it again, you’re a real treasure! Xoxo
I saw the other day when it was 100 days to Christmas. Doesn't seem possible, but when you look at the calendar it does indeed point to that. Soon we'll be seeing Christmas things out at the store. I thought this year it might be fun to do layaway. I've never done it before and I thought it might be fun to get an early start on the little shopping I have to do and then pay so much per week and experience that. We'll see.

On my drive to the "Y" this morning I was wishing we might find a good burger joint! This recipe sounds intriguing, indeed! My fav is 1/2-pound chuck, charred on the outside/medium rare inside, with bleu cheese dressing. Sometimes I substitute a sunny side egg for the bleu cheese.
Since we're starting over from scratch, a Christmas countdown sounds like a good idea!
