ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It’s such a grand thing to be a mother of a mother —that’s why the world calls her a grandmother.
Author Unknown
This is one holiday I’m really celebrating ! I’m very thankful to be a Grand’ma’ and love all my grandchildren very much. I may not see them as often as I’d like, but though some are far away, they are really never far away as I keep close in my heart. I love being a mom and I love being a grand’ma’ too. Having a large family is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
My own grandparents are gone now and have been for many years, but I’m thankful for them too. They are big part of who I am. My paternal grandparents were from Hungary and my grandmother was a good cook and made delicious soups and pastries. I remember the days I’d sit at their kitchen table enjoying some wonderful treats. My maternal grandparents lived on a farm and I enjoyed many happy days on the farm with them. This grandmother was also a good cook, she taught me how to make the best biscuits ever from scratch. It’s no wonder that I love to cook.
It’s to be another rainy day here with temps in the 60’s. Much lower than we’ve had in a long time. I’ll be off to church and hope to see some of my family there too. We had a very happy time at the party yesterday for our Mr. Wonderful’s birthday and DS#5 and his wife did a great job of putting on a very happy birthday party. I got to see quite a few family members there, but not all of them. Due to time and distance, not everyone could make it. One thing I know for sure, is that they all love getting together!
Today’s pictures are of yesterday’s party.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Grandchildren are God’s way of compensating us for growing old.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

6325. for my own grandparents, gone but not forgotten
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
To become a grandparent is to enjoy one of the few pleasures in life for which the consequences have already been paid.
Robert Brault
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Relax, refresh, renew...A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.
I know you are the best grandmother to your beautiful family. Next is Great-grandmother, are you already or looking forward to it? Happy Sunday my blogger friend!
The party sounded fun! Happy Grandparents Day to you, Ma! We'll be seeing our little wee one today so it should be a fun day!

I didn't realize this is Grandparents Day, Pam … but I'm hoping yours is super! The party looks like such fun, and I'm sure impressed by that cake. Someone's a great decorator!
That's interesting about your Hungarian heritage. What a gift, learning to love cooking from your grandmothers!
Happy Grandparents Day 😀
Enjoyed seeing your party pictures Pam! Looks like everyone is really enjoying themselves. I love being a Grandmother, although I only get to practice my skills from afar. I have one grandchild I have not yet seen in person and he and his sister don't really know who I am, but its not their fault. My other children have gone out of their way to make sure their own children know who I am. I love them all of course! How wonderful that you have Hungarian heritage. I bet you make good pierogi! I am not surprised you are a great cook with all of your background! Love and hugs. xoxo
