ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons.
T.S. Eliot
If you know me at all you know how much I love my good cup of morning coffee. I like many different flavors and am not limited in my choice. Thanks to my children, I have a Kuerig coffee maker and it lets me enjoy one cup of fresh brewed coffee at a time. There are so many different kinds of coffee available in K cups and I have a pretty good collection. For Fall I have two kinds of Pumpkin spice, both are good. I also have Caramel Vanilla Cream and Starbuck’s Fall Blend.
I also have quite a variety of coffee mugs and one of fovorites is pictured today. I got it at Home Goods several years ago now and I had hoped to have a complete set of these dishes, but they discontinued them before I got it finished. I love roosters and my kitchen includes a lot of rooster items of all sorts from silverware to trivets.
It’s been years and years since my love affair with coffee began. I was in my early teens. My parents always had the coffee brewing every morning and it smelled so good that I had to try it out too. First I tried it with cream, then with sugar, then a mixture of both, but it turned out that I liked my coffee black the best.
It’s been well over 60 years now of starting off the day with a good cup of coffee and I’m pretty sure my days would not start off half as well with out it. It’s habit and I’m addicted, no doubt about it.
I’d stop drinking coffee, but I’m no quitter.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Coffee is good and good for you too, unless you don't like coffee. But hopefully you'll join me in having a cup or two today!
I gave up coffee about a year ago, but hubby still enjoys his. The smell is always enticing though :)

I remember! As a child, I liked to dunk my hard cookie in my father's cup of coffee -- laden with cream and sugar. In fact, I kept taking my coffee that way for years. Then in my 30's, at the conclusion of a business dinner everyone was served black coffee. There was no sign of sugar or cream and I didn't want to embarrass my (then) husband by asking. I've enjoyed 'straight black' ever since! My fav is the dark French Roast, but I'll occasionally add some of hubby's Half n' Half and a few drops of vanilla extract.
Hug in a Mug … I love that!
