ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today we celebrate the Full Harvest Moon which is the full Moon nearest the start of fall or the autumnal equinox. This full moon brings an abundance of moonlight early in evening which was a traditional aide to farmers and crews harvesting their summer crops. Hence, it is called the Harvest Moon.
It seems as if just when the days were rapidly getting shorter, the Harvest moon arrived to extend the hours that harvesting could be done.
Shine on, Harvest Moon!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing and scattering abroad.
Edwin Way Teal
It may be harvest time, but the rain is supposed to move in later today, so we will probably not be seeing the moon at all. Our temps will be cooler this week but not bad at all. We’ll be in the mid 70’s and upper 60’s which is pretty much normal fall weather for us.
I have the maintenance men coming this morning to check out my furnace to make sure it good condition for the colder days ahead. It’s one of the services that is included in the rent I pay. They also check out the smoke alarms.
I saw in the news this morning that the Wooley bear prediction for this winter is that we will have colder and snowier weather. We’ll see if this prediction is true or not in the coming days of winter. Meanwhile I’m taking it one day at a time.
Today’s holiday tip: Paint brushes pack cleaning power. Inexpensive stiff bristled paint brushes are a great addition to cleaning supplies. Use them to dust tops of books or whisk dirt from the baseboards and corners, clean dust from blinds and remove crumbs from upholstery
It’s going to be another busy week for me as I continue with switching the closet around for fall and I am hoping to spend some time in Santa’s workshop too. Slowly but surely it will all get done.
Here’s wishing you a bountiful harvest!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest.
William Blake
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6368. for the bright Harvest Moon
6369. for farmers who provide our food
6370. for a new week with endless possibilities
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.
Robert Louis Stevenson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

It's the first week of autumn and a time for me to get busy. Mondays set the tone for the rest of the week!
What adorable planters! The only plant I've not managed to kill is rapidly outgrowing my mom's old dough bowl, so we're in the market for a bigger container. So far, everything I've seen is so ordinary, so meh.
Because the venetian blinds in our sunroom are so dirty and brittle, we're going to just replace them. But for sure, going forward I'm going to use a paint brush. What a novel idea you had! Happy Monday!
I like the idea of using a paintbrush for dusting. I'll have to try it. I'll look for the moon tonight as it should be clear here. Always like to see the full moon. Hoping the Wooley bear's prediction wasn't accurate and it won't be colder and snowier for your part of the country in the upcoming winter.

Love your very Autumnal planters Pam! Also like the cleaning tip about using paint brushes. That's a great idea! I read that they are expecting a colder snowier Winter here also. Brrr... I know it is already very chilly and we are trying to resist putting on the heat, but probably won't be able to for much longer. Like you, we had our boiler serviced last week so it should be in fine working order for the colder weather! Thanks so much for all that you share with us. You are truly a ray of sunshine! xoxo
